The article on tidal islands says Camano Island (initially named by Wilkes, but renamed Camano by Henry Kellett) is an island at higher tides, but the article on Camano says it is separated by Davis Slough. °≈≠≤≥±°É╔╩╦ Maybe the slough dries up at low tide? Captain Puget (talk)

Kangaroos in Asia

I am quite sure that there are huge purple kangaroos almost the size of elephants in Pakistan and India. These sources tell the same.

Why don't you go to Pakistan or India and see for yourself? There are some good reasons to do so:

  1. You can sunbathe in the heat
  2. You can visit the Himalayas.
    1. Also Mt. Everest if you stop by at Nepal
  3. You can learn many languages such as:
    1. Urdu
    2. Hindi
    3. Bengali
    4. South Indian languages like:

I know a Latin teacher who was born in St. Louis three months after his family flew over from India, specifically Kerala. His parents both spoke Malayalam (a very unusual language, which you will notice is a palindrome) at home, but told him and his brother to speak only English. He can't read or write it, but can recognize it and can understand someone speaking it. Until he went to school, he had never heard the letter V pronounced. In fact, he got a postcard a little while ago from his father from Switzerland; it was signed "Best Vishes". He is quite an interesting man, and a great teacher! Reverted edit

My recent edit to the Bullet points section was reverted by Technical 13. I'm open to discussing the edit. What are the objections to my changes? – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 22:56, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Seeing where as the edit was based on a discussion on my talk page, where there seems to be some disagreement, I feel it may be better to find out what the actual community consensus is before making any changes to any tutorial or policy or guideline. A discussion that uses proper threading can be (an often is) very difficult to read and see who said what (and I've personally misquoted people three or four times because I could not see where one persons post ends and another starts). Proper threading is suppose to work in a manner such as:
Lead post
* Response #1 to lead post
* Response #2 to lead post
** Response to response #2
* Response #3 to lead post
** Response #1 to response #3
** Response #2 to response #3
*** Response #1 to response #3-2
**** Response #1 to response #3-2-1
* Response #4 to lead post
When proper threading such as this happens, especially if there is a long post by a single user or many, many responses to a single post, it can very quickly become difficult to see where one post leaves off and the next starts. For this reason, I would prefer to have the bullet at Wikipedia:TPO#fixformat reworded to read: "Fixing format errors that render material difficult to read. In this case, restrict the edits to formatting changes only and preserve the content as much as possible. Examples include fixing indentation levels, fixing list markup, using <nowiki> and other technical markup to fix code samples, and providing wikilinks if it helps in better navigation."
Changing from using bullets or numbers or unmarked indentation is a matter of personal preference that falls under changes because JUSTDONTLIKEIT, and should be avoided. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 01:16, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
I was unaware of the discussion on your talk page at the time I made the edit; my apologies for not seeing it. My edit was actually based on the edit summary you used in a revert at Village pump (technical).
A lot of your post reads as arguing for changes to the Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines (hell, you even quote the exact changes you want made). I won't respond to most of that here, since this isn't the appropriate place to discuss such changes. If you want to make a proposal affecting these guidelines, post at Wikipedia talk:Talk page guidelines.
Here are how I read your objections to my edit on the tutorial page:
  1. You perceive a lack of consensus regarding the status of the talk page guidelines on which I based my edit.
  2. You would prefer bullets be used for indenting all talk page replies.
  3. You feel how an editor indents their replies should be their personal choice.
Points 2 and 3 go against the current talk page guidelines. I think our main bone of contention is point 1: do those guidelines have consensus? Thus far yours is the only objection I have seen. The relevant part of the guideline is not recent, but has had similar wording for a few years. Changes to guidelines without consensus are usually reverted quickly; that no one has done so is an indicator of consensus. Even if the consensus were in doubt, it is the norm that a guideline continues to apply until there is sufficient consensus to change it.
In my view, my edit brought the tutorial further into line with a current consensus, and made it more consistent with the talk page guidelines as they stand. You are welcome to propose changes to the guidelines at Wikipedia talk:Talk page guidelines. Should such proposals gain consensus, then this tutorial should then change to match, of course. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 23:56, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

I think you need to use only apostrophes for bold and indent... Let's try:

Creating a page about "Zero Time Exercise"

I have tried to create a page about "Zero Time Exercise", an exercise concept advocated by a professor at The University of Hong Kong, and had considerable media coverage in Hong Kong since 2015. And I have tried to put the links showing the media coverage. Maybe because this concept is rather new, the page was deleted twice. Thus, please kindly advise how this page can be created.
