Hi! I think we have a nice selection to choose from for our article... What are you leaning towards? From your two I might lean towards zoo blot, it looks like a lot of work could be done on it. It's a good pick. From mine, I think kataegis is interesting and it has a fair amount of new literature. Do you have a preference?

Hnagy2 (talk) 03:38, 12 October 2013 (UTC#

I have some notes on each of those two articles. Should I just post them on the main group page and then we can edit together?
Hnagy2 #talk) 05:52, 15 October 2013 (UTC#
Hi! I added a rationale for the kataegis article, but we can always change our minds! I would just like to have a placeholder at least by the deadline. If you would like another article we can certainly pick another one, I am not married to the idea of this one. If you are having difficulty with the talk page we can always email #my email address begins with the same username as on here#.
Hnagy2 #talk) 01:16, 16 October 2013 (UTC#
Hello! The Kateagis article would work for me, but I think we're supposed to choose from the articles located in the articles table. Where exactly was the kataegis article located? When I pull up the article box, neither one of the articles we previously wrote about is included in the class' article box. From the article box, I would choose the article Isomerase to edit. Juanquina Thomas #talk# 01:58, 16 October 2013 (UTC#
Hi again. The fact that people are claiming articles in the article box leads me to believe that this is definitely where we choose our article. I'm going to claim the Isomerase article so it won't get taken. Juanquina Thomas #talk) 01:58, 16 October 2013 (UTC#
Hey! I finished the rationale for choosing the Isomerase article. I will contact Dr. Safford on the class site to clarify which articles we are to choose from. I think the both of us decided to edit articles from the Molecular Biology page for Unit 5 assignment. Maybe that's what was confusing. Anyhow, I claimed the Isomerase article in the article box and wrote the rationale to suffice for an article in case you chose from the incorrect group. If you want, we can exchange phone numbers if that's easier for you. Thanks!! Juanquina Thomas #talk) 02:46, 16 October 2013 (UTC#
I am okay with either one. I sent an email last week to Dr Safford and she indicated that any of our selected topics would be acceptable for the final selection since they were from the MCB stub list. We could just go with isomerase, it seems like a good base to work with! Hnagy2 #talk) 04:12, 16 October 2013 (UTC#
Let's play it safe, I deleted the other article. Isomerase has had a lot of weird edits in the revision history recently, a lot of stuff by bots. We can definitely make it a better article.Hnagy2 #talk) 04:24, 16 October 2013 (UTC#

Unit 7[edit]

Hey, I'm going to add references and ideas for an outline to my sandbox. We can move it over to yours if you prefer when we bring our work together! Hnagy2 #talk) 04:37, 22 October 2013 (UTC#

Hey! Working in your sandbox is fine with me! I'm heading to your page now! Juanquina Thomas #talk) 23:39, 22 October 2013 (UTC#
I'm reorganizing a bit, I am also a bit confused as to what exactly goes on the talk page and what goes here. Some of the references are online but you need to log in to the JHU online library to access them. Argh, need some more public articles/reviews. Hnagy2 #talk) 23:50, 22 October 2013 (UTC#
Also, the best overall review I found through the JHU portal is Introduction to Enzyme and Coenzyme Chemistry #Chapter 10#. It's a very good resource... And the images are fantastic, I wish we could use them!Hnagy2 #talk) 00:05, 23 October 2013 (UTC#

We could make this such a huge article, there is so much ground. We can cut references and we can certainly make the organization better.Hnagy2 #talk) 00:47, 23 October 2013 (UTC#
I found 5 solid references, but you had 3 of them already- so I guess those are winners! Also, I think we're supposed to discuss our organization here, but discuss the key points on the article's talk page. There are so many places to communicate- my head is spinning! Juanquina Thomas #talk) 01:53, 23 October 2013 (UTC#
Many of the sources I'm finding are for purchase only. So frustrating!!!Juanquina Thomas #talk) 01:55, 23 October 2013 (UTC#
I'm trying to organize the preliminary outline a little more. I don't know if I'm moving the types of isomerases you listed in the correct spot. I put them under subcategories. Is this the outline structure you had in mind? Feel free to change it around if you don't like the layoutJuanquina Thomas #talk) 01:57, 23 October 2013 (UTC#
There are so many types of isomerases! Do we discuss them all? I'm sure we should definitely discuss the most common ones! Juanquina Thomas #talk) 01:59, 23 October 2013 (UTC#
So, according to the instructions, we're supposed to be talking on 3 different pages today:
-As a team, begin to research the topic of the article, identify key points that should be in the Wikipedia article for this topic. Discuss this on your group talk page. ##User:Juanquina Thomas|Juanquina Thomas## ###User talk:Juanquina Thomas|talk### 02:08, 23 October 2013 #UTC#
-As a team, prepare a preliminary outline for the article, and write that in a new section of the working sandbox page# ##User:Juanquina Thomas|Juanquina Thomas## ###User talk:Juanquina Thomas|talk### 02:08, 23 October 2013 #UTC#
-Add your ideas for how you would like to improve the article to the talk page of the article# This will open communication between your group and other wiki editors who are interested in improving the article# ##User:Juanquina Thomas|Juanquina Thomas## ###User talk:Juanquina Thomas|talk### 02:08, 23 October 2013 #UTC#
I really like the mechanism portion of the preliminary outline# I think that will entail very descriptive information# ##User:Juanquina Thomas|Juanquina Thomas## ###User talk:Juanquina Thomas|talk### 02:16, 23 October 2013 #UTC#
Argh, Internet problems at home# Oh I had also put a very brief outline on the isomerase article talk page, got my lines crossed# I love the changes, it is looking much much better# I thought the mechanisms were a good focus too, but I still need to figure out which images we can use for them# There are a few very common isomerases across the texts that we could use as examples### Yes, it's overwhelming how many different types exist# It is too easy to get bogged down in particular ones##User:Hnagy2|Hnagy2## ###User talk:Hnagy2|talk### 03:09, 23 October 2013 #UTC#

Unit 8[edit]

Hello there partner! I sent you an email to your jhu account. If you could provide me with some feedback, that would be great! I'm having a little trouble here. Juanquina Thomas (talk) 01:25, 30 October 2013 (UTC) I'll include what I wrote in the email here (just in case you see this before your email): There are several sources on the internet for our topic, however I can not access most of them because I would have to purchase them in some way. Therefore, I am only utilizing about 3 good sources (the same sources I used for our "references" assignment). Are you having this same problem, or am I just looking in all the wrong places? Juanquina Thomas (talk) 01:25, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just saw it! I am using some very basic references for the draft. I have some of it up on the article page right now. Hnagy2 (talk) 01:59, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unit 9[edit]

Hi partner! I think I'm going to have to take a good old fashion trip to the library soon! My internet sources for our article are still very scarce! I saw that the diseases portion was taken out. Did you still want to keep that section, or did we remove it for review purposes? Juanquina Thomas (talk) 03:56, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That is strange, I didn't remove anything and history doesn't show any new changes. Maybe stuff was overwritten because we were updating at the same time last week? I liked that section.72.182.15.48 (talk) 07:32, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unit 10[edit]

So, I fixed a few of the errors I had in my parts and re-arranged/added information per the suggestions we received. It looks better but I have some more information to add. More stuff on mechanisms and a little more background information for each sub-category. You seem to have a good handle on the human disease portion but I can certainly help with that end too. I am still not sure how some of your stuff was deleted, I saw it the day we submitted and it looked very good to me.Hnagy2 (talk) 22:25, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I went back and added images for the mechanisms. I put in some more background information as well.Hnagy2 (talk) 02:45, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
