Article Selection Discussion[edit]

Hello! As you both know we have to choose an article that we will be working on this semester by the end of this unit. I did like the idea of focusing on base flipping of DNA however, that seems to be claimed by someone else for a group project. Now that we have a group page, I would like to communicate on this talk page rather than individual ones so we can track our communications better. Please let me know if you have any other ideas for the article.Mmehta10 (talk) 16:11, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I rather like either Spermatocyte or the AP-1 binding site. They both do not have a lot of information on them, and I feel like there is a lot of research going on in both topics. Let me know what you guys think. Gkaltam (talk) 01:16, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Correction: Spermatocyte has been taken already. So another article of interest would be the AB5 toxin. It is a little bit bigger than a stub, and it already has a diagram with an info box of its genus and species. However, the references are not cited correctly, and there seems to be a lot that can be expanded on. Gkaltam (talk) 01:22, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with working with AB5 toxin as well. We can explore how they are using it in clinical treatments of diseases etc. And ofcourse citations need to be corrected. I can email Craitekya and perhaps claim the topic by eob tomorrow? Mmehta10 (talk) 22:14, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. Thanks for taking initiative!Gkaltam (talk) 11:19, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I just created a new section for Article selection rationale on the group page instead since that's where it would be graded. Please feel free to edit and add to the summary.Mmehta10 (talk) 19:55, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article Development[edit]

Happy International Women's Day to both! As you can see, I have added some subsections on Grittney's sandbox so we're better organized while doing research on this topic. Please keep adding any interesting information under the subsections. Also, I'm starting the talk page of AB5 toxins as this will probably be accessible to a greater audience, thereby initiating a more collaborative effort! Some other knowledgeable people might be able to critique/ share new research material with us. Mmehta10 (talk) 22:21, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(Replying to conversation on the sandbox page over here instead) Hey Grittney, You can combine points 4 and 6 if you like on the outline. Please add if there's anything else you think we should include for the outline as well. Also let me know what you think of moving your initial work and reference under specific subsections instead of having it as a separate discussion? Mmehta10 (talk) 20:59, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
