Welcome to the talk page[edit]

This is a place where you can ask questions, talk about problems, and discuss the Wikipedia assignment with classmates and other Wikipedians.--Ege3 (talk) 20:19, 13 January 2012 (UTC) Hey all. I'm not sure but I think I did it. Online Ambassador[edit]

Hello everyone, I'm Joe and I'll be your online ambassador. That means I'm here to help with anything Wikipedia-related at all. Feel free to contact me on my talk page here, if anyone needs any help (I'll also be watching this page). Swarm X 19:08, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with new article[edit]

Recently, Rule (Irene), a student of this course, created Goldblatt v. Hempstead. The text appears to be taken verbatim for a case document (I believe that this is a copy of the document).

Is this something that has been assigned to the student? A specific notability guideline for court cases does not exist meaning that WP:GNG would apply. As it stands, I see no claim of notability and while the text is public domain, Wikipedia is not a compendium of court documents. The article was PRODed by another user but if the article is not deleted, I will take it to AfD unless someone can point out a policy or guideline that suggests that the article shouldn't be deleted. It's unfortunate that messages like this are ignored. I'm going to ask for assistance from WP:WikiProject Law on assessing which articles for this course should or should not be taken to WP:AfD. I would use my normal WP:BEFORE methods but I feel that specific cases may not easily fit into a preexisting inclusion guideline. OlYeller21Talktome 14:45, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted you to know that I believe the professor has spoken with the student and is trying to resolve the issue (based on an email he sent me on Friday). I don't think your comment went unnoticed or ignored. JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 21:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, JMathewson. I'll keep in mind that instructors may communicate with WMF instead of a talk page. I've asked for help from WikiProject Law on determining notability of the subjects of the articles being created. I'd really like to help WP and the education programs as best I can. I informed Max (the regional ambassador) of this yesterday as well; with two channels informed, we should be seeing results soon. Rob SchnautZ (WMF) (talkcontribs) 18:34, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
