Wikipedia talk:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Three Levels
Appearance
Hi, I have a couple of questions that I think I'd like to see addressed early on:
- What criteria will be used to select articles? Our general WP1.0 strategy focusses on improving articles on core or key topics first, so I think we'd want to coordinate any such work with Core Topics. However many of those articles are fairly broad, and may not require "detail" experts, more general knowledge would be needed. Thoughts?
- I think I'd like to see a clear result of the process, such that we could say - at the end of the process (if all major flaws are dealt with) we have an A-Class article that could be nominated for GA, what do you think? Or would very short articles (like your example) be common? (These could probably not be A-Class). Walkerma 15:30, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- A Couple of Answers:
- Articles would be selected once several people sign up based on what people list as their "areas of expertise" because, in this model, it's easier to find somebody with general expertise in an area then to pick an article and try to find somebody who's an expert with it. Not all things listed would be picked of course.
- The only reason I picked that article is because it is an article about something that I pretty much know everything about and because it was not a perfect article. Also, the finished article will probably be higher quality than my example because there will be three people working on it. Because the changes people are making are pretty much the criteria for an A-Class article, most articles that are chosen and make it through the process will be A-Class.

Yes, that answers my questions, thanks. I have a request, too - could you please put some kind of introduction and statement of purpose on the page? Right now it jumps into "How to do this" without explaining what "This" is and why we are doing "this." It may be fairly obvious once you are familiar with the concept, but I think we need an intro for the person seeing the page for the first time. Thanks, Walkerma 16:45, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- That makes a lot of sense. I'll do it, thanks. -AtionSong 16:03, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
