CSIRO images
[edit]Could someone interpret policy and confirm whether or not CSIRO photos from the CSIRO Land and Water Image Gallery are able to be used here? - Shiftchange 03:33, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- They are not permissible on Wikipedia.--cj | talk 07:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Map links in articles
[edit]I don't see WikiProject Australia article guidelines about article links to maps, but you might be interested in a current discussion. The Geolinks templates may be superseded by recent changes in the coord template which provide a list of mapping services when the geographical coordinate is clicked on. Please participate in the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Geographical_coordinates#Geolinks-coord_Issues. I notice that recent versions of the Geobox template emit coord-style coordinates and locator maps. (SEWilco 16:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC))

Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Australia literature
[edit]"Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in" typically is used to flag Wikipedians who live in a particular geographic location that someone wants a photo taken in the location. However, Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Australia literature seems to be addressed to Wikipedian's who appear in Australia literature. If you look at Special pages, you'll see that "Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Australia literature" doesn't really fit with the other categories. Any suggestions? Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in New South Wales now reorganised
[edit]I have now reorganised all 1218 requests in Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in New South Wales into a tree of subcategories of the various local government areas, people, fauna and flora. Within City of Sydney, the breakdown also extends to individual suburbs for those with a lot of requests (e.g. Sydney central business district, The Rocks, et). The subcategories range from 1 to 36 entries, making the task less overwhelming. Each geographic subcategory has a link to produce a map of all of the requests in that area, to make it easier to plan your photo route. So please see if you can help with photos requested in your local area or while out and about on holidays. Kerry (talk) 11:18, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
