This discussion page is dedicated to participants of the Deshipidian 2008 contest and their questions. Experienced users who want to discuss organization of the competition may make use of the Organizers' Discussion. For use of the contestants regular updates will also be posted here.

The eligibility criteria[edit]

Question[edit]
My topic is "Biodiveristy of Bangladesh". No such pages exist however, and it redirects to a category containing the page "Wildlife of Bangladesh". So do I create a new page "Biodiveristy of Bangladesh"? Thanks. vonmixer202.168.229.244 (talk) 17:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Since biodiversity is a general concept that applies to the science of biology, rather than animal and plant life variety of individual countries, the title is justifiably redirected to the wildlife article. You may edit the wildlife article, as it is a more appropriate title for your subject. Don't worry about the current title, your subject is still very valid, and it is of no consequence that the subject now has a different title. The new title has been a result of a consensus between Wikipedia editors.
- But, if you continue to edit without signing in first, it will be impossible to judge your edits. Your edits are yours only when you make them when signed in.
- Just keep adding value to the wildlife article (of course when signed in), and you remain a part of the competition. If you feel strongly that Wildlife of Bangladesh is not what you meant, and the title has to be Biodiversity of Bangladesh, you may state your reason here.
