Article improvement and expansion of information[edit]

This is one that could use some attention and addition of information Environmental issues with energy - skip sievert (talk) 16:34, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that article would be best merged into an article of more encompassing subject matter, such as Sustainable Energy or ideally Energy, unless these articles are too big, in such a case a separate article could then be created. Nick carson (talk) 02:34, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That article has separate issues. Energy article is different also. Sustainable energy is different as to focus. Thermoeconomics is a focus of Energy economics. Any real progress toward Sustainability will probably come from the idea of Thermodynamics as it regards the resource base in regard to energy consumption and population, and energy conversion in the future... I am guessing. skip sievert (talk) 03:05, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

National Parks[edit]

I found an article that discusses historical congressional, local, and major media opposition to the establishment of U.S. National Parks such as Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon for economic reasons (since mining, logging, and oil/gas drilling was banned); adding this information to the specific parks as well as the national park article is important historically as it contrasts how the national parks have since become consistent economic booms for local and regional economies, and that these economies are dependent on functioning healthy ecosystems. The article which discusses such historical oppositions is written by George Wuerthner who has published many books on many specific national parks, however verifiable sources need to be found for each of his statements, I will get to this when I have a moment but just wanted to throw this out there for anyone with a moment to search for the newspapers and congressional bills mentioned. Here's the article [1] Nnoell (talk) 04:25, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Overview Table of Sustainable Frameworks[edit]

I think it would be useful to somewhere put a table which can compare different sustainability frameworks such as Biomimicry, LCA, Industrial Ecology, Cradle to Cradle, the Natural Step, etc. Is there a particular place where this might be most appropriate? The issue is that there are so many different groups with many different flavors of sustainability, and I'm not aware of any area on Wikipedia where we can easily compare this, especially with regards to the theoretical and practical approaches that each of them use. Looking for an editor[edit]

Hello, I am very new to Wikipedia. I am looking for an editor to help update a current Wikipedia entry, and a very helpful editor in the Teahouse directed me to this project. A brief background: The Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA) Wikipedia entry has been in need of attention for some time, and I volunteered to COSA to help draft a revision. As a COSA volunteer, I understand that I have a conflict of interest and this is disclosed on my user page. I have worked on an update to the entry, and as I understand next steps, I believe I now need a Wikipedia editor to review and provide feedback. My proposed revision is currently in .docx format. I am happy to upload or include it wherever most appropriate for review. Perhaps the COSA entry's sandbox? I'd sincerely appreciate any insight or direction. Thank you. Interdisciplinary Sustainability[edit]

I have been thinking about interdisciplinary sustainability. I believe that it relates to Applied sustainability, Sustainability studies, and Sustainability at American Colleges and Universities.

Also, the books Psychology for Sustainability and Fostering Sustainable Behavior relate to the Sustainability Among Student Groups section of an aforementioned article. DonneyC (talk) 19:46, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Sustainable development[edit]

Hi! I'm proposing the creation of a WikiProject for sustainable development because it seems to me the scope of this project, namely "articles related to the natural environment and biophysical environment", leaves out all the economic and social aspects of sustainable development! Any support, comments, objections? Please leave them at the project proposal. Cheers! Sophivorus (talk) 19:22, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
