This page is the first of its kind for our project, and will hopefully be the start of an annual review process of maintaining the quality of our project's best articles. If you have any questions while improving the articles, please start a discussion so we can quickly resolve the issue. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 06:17, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think this will help a lot with the annual review. What should be done, though, for titles that lose their status before it gets to the annual review? Jaws, for example, seems pretty likely to get delisted in its current FAR. And if it seems unlikely an article can be brought back up to standard in a fairly reasonable time, should we encourage people to take the initiative and start a FAR or do a GAR, as appropriate? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 06:58, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We'll probably just remove Jaws once it gets delisted. The goal here is to improve the articles to prevent a FAR/GAR from starting and help to retain the quality articles. I think that we should set up this page to highlight one article at a time as the current article that collaboration is occurring on (multiple if people are interested), improve it, and then move on to another one. In the meantime, editors are free to look at individual articles and address the individual elements. Erik pointed out that we probably got to get to cleaning up the older articles first, as those have deteriorated the most and passed before current criteria and guidelines. --Happy editing! Diffs

[edit]

Would it be useful to provide the revisions from when the articles were promoted to Good or Featured status? If there is a way to plug the revision # into the diff URL that also has the most recent revision #, we can compare to see what has happened to the article since. Good idea. It would probably be helpful for comparing and finding vandalism/removal of content. I'll add those in the next day or so. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 01:35, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
