Grindcore?

Someone has added Grindcore to the Project Industrial page, which I don't believe is accurate. Since grindcore's birth in the mid 1980's, a number of groups have combined the sound with electronic elements, but that does not make it a sub-genre of industrial music. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.142.191.132 (talkcontribs) 02:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Keep An Eye Out For Genre Edits

I just spent a chunk of my night reverting genre edits made by Jotsko. I have already put in a request for him to be blocked since his talk page is full of warnings and notifications of disregarding Wikipedia policies. He has gone through several of the Industrial pages and changed genre listings to obscure sub-genres, half of which do not have existing pages on Wikipedia. Several Skinny Puppy and ohGr pages had been changed to Glitch/Glitchcore or had that genre added. I would keep an eye on Jotsko's Contributions.

On the bright side, it forced me to look at several of the Skinny Puppy pages. A bunch of them needed to have their genre listings aligned with the other pages.

Thanks guys, Xe7al (talk) 10:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up and will certainly keep an eye out. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 22:18, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Main Page Changes

I tweaked the main page to look more professional and more in line with several other established WikiProjects. I turned the side bar into a template with links to other pages for our group. Look over the changes and tell me what you think. Hopefully, you guys like it. Xe7al (talk) 13:14, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

I have also created a member page and assessment page. Xe7al (talk) 13:49, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Looks good. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 21:40, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Cool. Feel free to play with the layout if you think something needs fixing. BTW, I just have Top Members listed so we remember not to overload our front page. As of right now, we're small enough to fit everyone in. It's mostly a temp thing until someone finds something better. Xe7al (talk) 02:24, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Blackhouse

I was just introduced to a Christian industrial project called Blackhouse. Obviously there is nothing about it on Wikipedia. Anyone care to at least work on a stub? Here is a link to the official website. Pmcginty (talk) 00:58, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

It might be noteworthy considering the length of time the band has been producing albums. I'm unfamiliar with the group, so will defer to those who are. Do you want to go ahead and start the stub and we can fill it it as information becomes available? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 21:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Consider the request filled. Been on my todo list for a while now, but just got the sources that I needed to properly write it. Dan, the CowMan (talk) 03:50, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

GA reassessment of Coil (band)

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I am notifying you as the article has a banner for your project. I have found some serious concerns with the article which you can see at Talk:Coil (band)/GA1. I have de-listed the article but it can be brought back to WP:GAN when fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:39, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

1980s in music

I'm thinking article 1980s in music should have some mention of Industrial music? Any thoughts on this inclusion? What to mention and what isn't worth adding? Thanks. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 01:58, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

ATelecine

The Sasha Grey article makes reference to an Industrial project called ATelecine. I wonder if it warrants a short article. I don't, however, know much about it. Thoughts? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 16:55, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

WP 1.0 bot announcement

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Request for comment on Biographies of living people

Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:

Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, many wikiproject topics will be effected.

The two opposing positions which have the most support is:

  1. supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
  2. opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect

Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.

Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced BLP articles if they are not sourced, so your project may want to source these articles as soon as possible. See the next, message, which may help.

Is This Project Active?

I don't see a whole lot of discussion here. Well, I joined just now, figured I ought to since I've been doing some work on this topic over the past year. Check out my user page to see a list of bands and artists under the industrial umbrella that I've tried to overhaul and improve. ---BrentonRyan (talk) 20:35, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Still alive and kicking. I have been slowly making progress on cleaning up Industrial related articles. Welcome a'board and hope to collaborate moving forward. :) Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 21:01, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
I also just joined, and I've been working a ton on the KMFDM page. I've renominated it for good article status. Hopefully it'll pass this time. I plan on looking around for some other articles to work on too. Torchiest (talk) 15:13, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
I have been a bit busy since I last contributed to this project. But I do keep an eye on things time to time. Xe7al (talk) 17:54, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced Articles

I would suggest our members to start watchlisting unreferenced BLP articles that our project covers. Talk to Ikip if you are interested. The Imperative Reaction article was deleted on the grounds that it was poorly cited which relates directly to this cause. Xe7al (talk) 07:32, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

I found a copy of the article, and copy/pasted it to my sandbox. I think the band is definitely notable, and it's unfortunate the article was deleted. But at least we can work on it, and then re-start the page once we've got enough information together. Torchiest (talk | contribs) 23:52, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
I finished working on the article, and got the admin that deleted it to move it from my userpage into the main space. So it's back! Torchiest (talk | contribs) 12:29, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Statistics for project

Does anyone know how to set something like this up for WP Industrial? Pmcginty (talk) 22:41, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I haven't messed with this, but this page can get us started if we do it. I'll look into it a little bit. Xe7al (talk) 11:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Alright, so I was being stupid. I found ours. It is automatically generated with our tagging of articles.

I'll go ahead and throw this on our main page. Xe7al (talk) 12:17, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Instructions for Updating

This bot automatically updates our statistics and worklist. If you need to manually update our statistics/worklist, use the following instructions.

  1. Go to the WP 1.0 bot updater page: Here.
  2. In the text box, enter Industrial music and press submit.
  3. Patiently wait for the bot to scan for new articles and updates. It will be complete when you see the green font message at the bottom of the page.

That's all it takes. Everything should be updated after that. Enjoy! Xe7al (talk) 02:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Update: The new site is here. Everything else is the same. Torchiest (talk | contribs) 02:07, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

The link in the three steps is now fixed. Thanks. Xe7al (talk) 07:13, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Moving back to main page

What do you think about putting this back on the main project page? I thought it was pretty handy there, as seeing the actual list of project articles is pretty central to what we do. It just seems like right now it's buried at the bottom of a semi-obscure page. It actually took me a little bit of digging to find it. Having it here is okay, but since this is just the talk page, it's not as "official". Torchiest (talk | contribs) 13:17, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm in time to time. I've been a bit busy lately. Xe7al (talk) 17:55, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Count me in too. I'm less active on Wiki as of late, but still can and will contribute. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 20:34, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Well, I guess four is decent, considering how few people are even members. The work list is very up to date, so feel free to dig around and see what's on it. I've been trying to get some stubs filled out here and there. And definitely keep adding more articles to the project. Torchiest (talk | contribs) 04:54, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

I'll check out the list per your suggestion. I've mainly been cleaning up and expanding Skinny Puppy, Ministry, and related (side projects, albums, et al.) articles as of late, but will check the others. BTW, whoever created the new logo—it looks great. :) Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 23:26, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
That was Torchiest. He's been doing a great job improving this Project. Xe7al (talk) 05:18, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I'm sporadic, usually active once a month or so. I go diehard when I am active though. I contribute heavily to the Combichrist article and am responsibly for a good portion of the changes with it. I love God Module so I may begin on their article next. If you assign me a particular task though, I will do it to the best of my ability. --Mutlee (talk) 16:14, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Combichrist has nothing to do with Industrial, so why even mention that band on this WikiProject? --217/83 19:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Delete For Members Page

I was cleaning up some of our WikiProject structure and I just requested a speedy delete for the members page. The members category handles our list of members automatically so there is no sense in keeping the page. The page in question is Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial/Members. Keep in mind, I was the original author. At the time I was not aware that the category section did what this page was there to serve. Xe7al (talk) 05:33, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Considering AfD

I came across an article (when looking at non-assessed pages) for some band called FMTA. Apparently, they have only released an EP and have next to no notability. That EP was released back in 2006. I'm very tempted to apply for an AfD. I just want your guys' opinions before I consider doing it. Thanks. Xe7al (talk) 02:43, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Their own website looks like it hasn't been updated in four years. I'm not sure if there are any secondary sources that talk about the band either to establish notability. It looks like the WikiProject Industrial Notice tag was added by someone from WikiProject Canada just recently anyway. I wouldn't miss the page, personally. Torchiest (talk | contribs) 16:06, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
That's all I needed to hear. I nominated it. Feel free to drop in on the discussion: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/FMTA_(band) Xe7al (talk) 18:05, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Industrial music good article review

Industrial music was nominated for good article status a couple weeks ago by someone who's not a part of our WikiProject. It's currently on hold, and I've made some improvements to it, but it may still need work. I haven't heard anything new from the reviewer, but if someone else could check it out, that would be great. It would be really cool to get our "flagship" page to good article status! Torchiest (talk | contribs) 20:19, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Delete section update?

On the 'Endangered' section of the deletion section, there is a reference to all of the Skinny Puppy singles being listed on a To Do for deletion. Clicking on the link, however, I don't see any listed there. Has this (hopefully) been resolved or is it on-going? If it is the former, we can probably remove it.

FWIW, somewhat on that topic, I've been going through the Skinny Puppy album pages and adding material/cites, cleaning up formatting, etc. --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 02:10, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Looks like he deleted that list a few days after I added that message to our page. Torchiest talk/contribs 14:59, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
OK, thanks for the update. I will continue my work on the Skinny Puppy album improvements. I have some additional materials coming soon, so should be able to add more shortly. --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 15:53, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Awesome. As long as at least ONE of us is somewhat active at any particular time, the project lives! Torchiest talk/contribs 16:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, long live the project. :) --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 16:28, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, just sort of an update. All of the Skinny Puppy singles articles are now properly sourced and include some third party coverage. I went ahead and cleaned up most of the regular SP albums too, though a few need some more work. I'll keep at it.--Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 18:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Great work! It's good to see you guys have been much more active than I have lately. You know how quickly real life can get busy. Hopefully, I'll still be floating around though! Xe7al (talk) 03:02, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Request for Article Cleanup

Hello, not sure if this is exactly where to go, if not please direct me to the appropriate place for this.

The article Pigface came to my attention when removing a redlink for a deleted page. After looking at the article though, it seems it really does need serious work. I noticed that this project group places it as "High Importance" so I decided you might be most qualified to assist this.

Basically the whole article is a mess. It lacks sources; the old homepage for the band is apparently gone, and the only source remaining within the citations for band members is a MySpace page, which is obviously a problem, but moreso because the old list of members contained several persons I could not verify and several other names I believe to be vandalism or hoaxes. As such I reverted it to the only list of members available, the one given on MySpace. For that matter, for a group with such distinguished members and so many releases, citations in general are lacking within the article.

I do not feel I am at all qualified to make the necessary improvements, but since the article does seem noteworthy I hoped to find someone who understands the subject to give it some much needed attention. Thank you! - OldManNeptune 05:31, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

I'll try to give it a look over in the next few weeks, see if I can clean it up some. I'll also add it to our list of articles needing attention. Torchiest talk/contribs 13:00, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the note. I will take take a look at it as well. Considering the group in question, I'm sure there are some good sources out there, so I will do some digging.--Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 17:20, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Industrial music articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Industrial music articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Sunday, November 14th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of November, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

If you have already provided feedback, we deeply appreciate it. For the Wikipedia 1.0 editorial team, SelectionBot 16:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Buck Satan And the 666 Shooters

Does the Al Jourgensen side project Buck Satan And the 666 Shooters warrant an article? I'm not familiar with it enough to know if it has received enough coverage, so thought I'd bounce it off the project. --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 22:59, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Just doing a quick search, I found one little interview with Al at Blabblemouth. I don't think that's substantial enough by itself, but I'm guessing eventually the band will get more press and an article will be doable. There could be more stuff out there, but most of what I saw looked like basic bio pages from non-reliable sources. Torchiest talkedits 08:07, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

WikiWomen's History Month

Hi everyone. March is Women's History Month and I'm hoping a few folks here at WP:Industrial will have interest in putting on events related to women's roles in industrial music; as DJs, performers, etc. We've created an event page on English Wikipedia (please translate!) and I hope you'll find the inspiration to participate. These events can take place off wiki, like edit-a-thons, or on wiki, such as themes and translations. Please visit the page here: WikiWomen's History Month. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to seeing events take place! SarahStierch (talk) 19:10, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

A NEW Featured article?

I would just like to see something other than NIN in the FA category. Any suggestions? I would love for Combichrist to be in the FA category but it doesn't have enough material IMO, maybe we could all get Skinny Puppy or Throbbing Gristle up to the standards? --Mutlee (talk) 16:11, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

KMFDM is already a good article, and I tried once to get it to featured, but it didn't pass. Skinny Puppy is a lot better than it was a couple years ago, but it still needs more work. But it's definitely a good candidate for improvement. Same with Throbbing Gristle, although it needs even more work. Check here for a list of things that could be improved. Torchiest talkedits 13:16, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
+1 to Skinny Puppy. Its come a long way. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 03:06, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Front Line Assembly single discography

Been doing some work on Front Line Assembly releases lately. I completed the single discography but realized that there are not enough resources available to justify own articles for every single. In fact, in most cases there are no online resources that could add anything of value in terms of notability. So this is a serious notability issue. I suggest merging the singles with their respective albums. I am not sure yet how I should deal with singles that weren't taken from an album. Furthermore, I'd like to add the singles covers to the album articles. As for the FLA template, I going to link the singles to the respective singles section of the albums. IndustrialGiant (talk) 19:59, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Well. Can you find reviews for the singles? That'd provide third-party verifiability and rateability, at least.
Also, check all the charts. The Deutsche Alternative Chart provides rich pickings. [1] - David Gerard (talk) 21:24, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
Industrial singles are extremely difficult to source, as they rarely get reviews or any other coverage. I would agree with upmerging singles into their albums. Unattached singles might just die off, unfortunately. On including the singles images, you might get some grief for that. I'm not sure if the general consensus is that single images are considered fair use in album articles. You could ask over at WT:ALBUMS and see what they think. —Tourchiest talkedits 21:41, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
Single covers in album articles, basically not unless there were some compelling reason. Really, if you want an article on a single then a chart (mainstream, alternative or genre) may be helpful. (e.g. I made articles for VNV's "Genesis" and "Beloved" when I noticed they'd both made the mainstream German charts, even if low down for a single week. XPQ-21 was saved from deletion because they had several DAC entries.) - David Gerard (talk) 12:11, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
FLA made indeed the DAC several times but – apart from a few exceptions – not mainstream charts. Remains the issue with the lack of reviews and other coverage for the singles. I pretty much googled, binged (Bing not binge) and duckduckgoed everything about FLA. So I'll stick to the merging idea. Thank you both for your thoughts about including single cover images. I already thought that. Will leave out the images. Another plus is that including the singles would make the album articles richer. Non-album singles could be assigned to albums when both were produced during the same session. Example: The single Plasticity is part of the Hard Wired session. Chart sites in general

Sites I've found useful for evidence of Wikipedia notability:

  • charts.de (German mainstream charts, also .ch, .at, .se, .be)
  • hitparade.ch (Swiss mainstream charts, other countries mentioned)

Is there a handy site for historical data from the DAC? trendcharts.de and the DAC site has the current week's ...

Are there other sites with suitable information? - David Gerard (talk) 13:51, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for those. The only other thing I've found is the annual DAC pages, like what you used in the XPQ-21 article. There's always Billboard itself; while few industrial works get into the Billboard 200, a decent number make it into their specialty lists, like the electronic, heatseakers, etc. Too bad the site is so poorly organized now. —Torchiest talkedits 16:28, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Something else that can give spotty results, but better than nothing. There are archived pages here for some weeks of the DAC chart. —Torchiest talkedits 16:39, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Thankfully, genre charts are totally acceptable for WP notability - David Gerard (talk) 18:43, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Konstruktivits

I started Konstruktivits way back in the mists of time, and I think the release history passes basic notability, but it's got very little in the way of source material (just Discogs listings). Does anyone have usable reference material on them? - David Gerard (talk) 14:01, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Nine Inch Nails FAR

I have nominated Nine Inch Nails for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Laurent (talk) 23:23, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial Music

While arpit doing online research for Front Line Assembly-related articles I stumbled over this book from S. Alexander Reed, Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial Music. It was published in 2013. Upon casual browsing, my impression is that the book might prove very valuable for a lot of Industrial-related articles. In any case, the parts where FLA is mentioned look promising. It appears to be critical in scientific terms and comes with a reference to sources. It mentiones all the big and not so big names and seems to be well-informed. It even quotes Genesis Breyer P-Orridge on the back cover: "Spectacular and accurate in so many ways." The book was generally well-received both by critics and readers though there have been critical remarks about the author's approach and his focus on theory. In my eyes definitively a piece one can work with. IndustrialGiant (talk) 6:01, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Very cool! There's also Alternative Rock by Thompson (ISBN 0879306076), which covers some industrial bands. —Torchiest talkedits 16:50, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Yep! Print is great stuff. Basically, just dump the book line by line into WP ... - David Gerard (talk) 18:44, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
I read this book earlier in the year and agree that it is a good source.--Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 05:21, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Band member timeline standards discussion at WikiProject Musicians

I wanted everyone here to know about the current discussion happening at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Musicians#Create Member Section/Timeline Standards that may put an end to all of the edit warring and inconsistency surround band member timelines. — DLManiac (talk) 06:52, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Ignored AFDs, and please add the article alert

We have an article alerts page, and I note Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hands Productions which needs more eyes on it (and if it should be kept, it needs good sources). Please watchlist the alert page and participate in AFDs, fix PRODed articles, etc :-) - David Gerard (talk) 16:20, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

Discussion regarding terminology of singles

I have started a discussion regarding how Wikipedia should define singles. Please go here to discuss.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 19:02, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Auto-assessment of article classes

Following a recent discussion at WP:VPR, there is consensus for an opt-in bot task that automatically assesses the class of articles based on classes listed for other project templates on the same page. In other words, if WikiProject A has evaluated an article to be C-class and WikiProject B hasn't evaluated the article at all, such a bot task would automatically evaluate the article as C-class for WikiProject B.

If you think auto-assessment might benefit this project, consider discussing it with other members here. For more information or to request an auto-assessment run, please visit User:BU RoBOT/autoassess. This is a one-time message to alert projects with over 1,000 unassessed articles to this possibility. ~ RobTalk 22:31, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
