Criterion[edit]

I think it is better to discuss and create a criterion to select vital articles. PHEONIXTER 07:36, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte in level 3 while Colombo and Kandy in Level 2
  • University of Moratuwa in level 3 while Universities of Colombo, Peradeniya, Sri Jayewardenepura in level 2
doesn't make any sense. PHEONIXTER 07:42, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for coming to the talk page. The criteria used in:
  • Level 1 are the 10 most important articles, besides Sri Lanka, in WikiProject Sri Lanka. They are the base articles for all other articles within the project.
  • Level 2 articles are the next 100 most important articles in WikiProject Sri Lanka. These 100 articles are composed from the subarticles of the Level 1 category.
  • Level 3 articles are all other articles of significant importance to the project.
This is structured this way to create a hierarchy of importance for each article and to indicate which articles need the most attention.
To answer your question Colombo and Kandy are Level 2 articles because they each have a greater significant impact on Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans than that of Kotte. They are the two largest population centers in the country, and is only significant in the present day because it is the recently promoted administrative capital of the country. The answer is the same with the universities.--Blackknight12 (talk) 08:28, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
