Reviving this project with a narrow scope

[edit]

Since this project is dead, I was hoping to revive it with a slightly different narrow scope: Adding talk pages to mainspace articles which don't have them. There are about 121K of these as of 3 September 2022. If anyone else is also interested in this, please respond on this thread. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:14, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fellow MPGuy2824 I just came upon this project and I saw its scope was about things I was already doing on my own, but with much better explanation and guides for me to follow. So I joined. We could do an Invite Template, and seek people who have been cleaning pages on their own, I bet more like me may exist. I am joining this project with eagerness to help and already added the userbox to my page. I hope we can make this project grow. —Nanami73⚓ (talk) (contributions) 01:25, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there consensus that adding talk pages to mainspace articles which don't have them is definitely an improvement? Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 10:54, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Adding Wikiproject templates to talk pages is definitely an improvement IMO. It would be their responsibility to fix maint tags once the article starts to appear in their reports (e.g. bambots). -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:04, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A Template to invite more People

[edit]

I was bold and created a template that we may use on Users talkpages to invite them to this project:

NASA Spirit Rover Model

As a current or past contributor who helped improve a talk page, an effort which is related to the scope of our Project, I thought I'd let you know about WikiProject Talk pages, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's Talk pages. If you would like to participate, you can visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks and related articles. Thanks! the Template for it is {{subst:Invite User WikiProject Talk pages}}

Please feel free to use it as you wish. —Nanami73⚓ (talk) (contributions) 01:57, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. "As a current or past contributor ..." how are you planning on finding folks to target this message at? -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:40, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just fixed that: now the word related links to Category:Archive Request, we may monitore the activity on this Category to find out if there is anyone willing to help, or, perhaps, if there is someone still active here that wishes to make a bot to do said task, or a Query on Wikidata, that could work better than we monitoring it ourselves, just an idea —Nanami73⚓ (talk) (contributions) 13:18, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The wording is absurd. Talk pages are not articles. AndyTheGrump (talk) 19:02, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, you are right, I shouldn't call it an article, thanks for pointing it out, I'll improve it —Nanami73⚓ (talk) (contributions) 19:42, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An mbox to display on our profiles

[edit]

As you can see I really enjoyed this project and I am thinking about how to bring it back to life. While I still don't have any major ideas I am doing what I can. so I did an Mbox for anyone who want do display it in their profile:

You can use it with {{User WikiProject Talk pages mbox}}, it has a more detailed explanation of what the project is about then the small userboxes. I hope it suits and helps people to perceive this Project —Nanami73⚓ (talk) (contributions) 15:52, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
