Identity of Wikishark

[edit]

@Myconix: - i noticed you created this page back in 2015, identifying the Wikishark as a very negative WikiCreature. However i branded myself as GreyShark back in 2010 and defined it on my page back in 2013, much prior to the creation of Wikipedia:WikiShark page, with the following definition [1]:

The Greyshark is a fearsome dwelling of the digital abyss, and it is in fact highly dangerous, when protecting its treasures from aggressive and manipulative creatures. However, don't be fooled - Greyshark is possessing the original features of the WikiGryphon, being kind and helpful to new wiki-editors, actively assisting to positive contributors, and in general protecting wikipedia from Vandals, biting WikiTrolls and WikiZombies and devouring WikiFallen sockmasters and their puppets (who are making too many "waves" on the surface, attracting the abyss predator). Greyshark is sometimes playing violent games with WikiDragons and may become very confused upon encountering a WikiKraken..

I think your definition of the shark is the essence of misunderstanding the shark's biological role in the ocean - sharks are extremely important factors of the marine ecosystem, but for some time their negative image in the popular Western culture has become a complete opposite to their actual positive contribution in the nature. Yes, sharks are feared by people. Is this fear justified? Mostly not. Are sharks crucial for marine ecosystem's health? Definitely!

After some wikiuser pointed out that my long ago created profile is not corresponding to this more recent definition of yours, what do you suggest we do? Shall WikiShark remain a very negative creature by definition, or is it just a misunderstood but crucially important part of the Wiki-ecosystem, devoted for cleaning the WikiOcean from sockpuppets, wikifallens and negative users as defined by myself back in 2013?GreyShark (dibra) 06:50, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Intentional typo?: 4/27/17 UTC

[edit]

Hi! I noticed a typo in the lede. Here is the sentence containing the typo, with the typo underlined:

Despite the fear around them, WikiSharks are highly benefitial to WikiFauna, keeping the order and a healthy biosphere.

Please let me know if the underlined word is intentionally misspelled or not. (I assume that it is meant to be the word "beneficial".)

Thanks!

Intentional typo? 2: 4/27/17 UTC

[edit]

Hi, Greyshark09! Thanks for fixing my last problem (and even fixing a related problem that I missed)!

I noticed another typo, created in this edit. Now, instead of WikiSharks being "often misunderstood", they are "often misunderstoo". Please let me know if this was intentional.

Thanks again for helping!

Obviously, it is a mistype...GreyShark (dibra) 18:35, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Greyshark09: Thanks for the reply! I'll go fix the typo now. Thanks again! Noah Kastin (talk) 22:23, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WikiShark web traffic tool

This tool provides Wikimedia meta:Traffic reporting.

It is a different concept than what is here. Blue Rasberry (talk) 22:02, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
