Results[edit]

This is so, so cool! I love that you were able to focus on increasing female editors! I am wondering - what were the results of your feedback survey? It would be interesting to see those; also, since so many of the attendees were clearly new (i.e., no username), it could be a good follow-up question on the survey to ask if they have tried editing Wikipedia following the event, and/or if they created a username. Just a though! Keep up the awesome work. Jwild (talk) 14:42, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! Thanks a lot. Yes almost everyone was new to Wikipedia and hardly any of them knew that Wikipedia can be edited. We are following them up. Slowly and steadily, you can see the number of blue links increasing in the table of participants. An advanced editing session is on the cards for sure. :)

Good to see new account requests from non-participants of this college :-) -- ɑηsuмaη ʈ ᶏ ɭ Ϟ 16:20, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ansuman, can you just check out whether someone created this account with username "My Style,My Lyff". I got this username from one of the participants but I'm not sure if this account is registered on Wiki. BPositive (talk) 19:03, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ya, I dropped the request with an e-mail explaining the UPOL. -- ɑηsuмaη ʈ ᶏ ɭ Ϟ 04:52, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, I'll also get in touch with her and explain the same. BPositive (talk) 09:41, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Report[edit]

Ram's View

We got confirmation from the organizing team(Barkha Dhamechai, Madhuri Varma and Yashada Urdhwareshe) on 30th January 2012 to conduct a session at Cummins College of Engineering for Women in Pune. The session was suppose to start at 12:15pm. We arrived a bit late because we got lost in our way and finally managed to reach there at 1pm. We reached the lab where we were supposed to take the session soon. The room was full of girls around 50, mostly siting in pairs and almost all the screens have a Wikipedia page open! We took some time to setup things and started with "Why we are here?", "Why we want you to contribute!", and basic Q&A about Wikipedia. We went through the new presentation made by Subhashish recently and afterwards showed them basic Wikipedia editing as well as uploading images to commons.

All in all we covered lot of topics within 2.5hours and we said a grateful thanks to our audience before requesting them to fill the feedback form(online Google Form).

In our experience it was one of the best outreach session in Pune, very well organised and delivered within a very short span of time.

We are hoping to have an advanced editing session soon.
