Corrections[edit]

I resigned as CRO after Wikimania 2005, not before. My book was also published before then (2004) in its first edition. I did take a fairly long hiatus from most Wikimedia-level activities (including unsubscribing from most lists) until January 2006, when the Wikimedia Committees were announced (I did continue to do MediaWiki development work, speeches, etc. during this time). The creation of the committees was a very positive step in opening up the organization (previously it was run entirely by its Board of Trustees), and my motivation for returning. I would not have returned to do Wikimedia-level work if those changes had not occurred.

For those interested in what I'm doing as a Board member, I'd advise you to subscribe to foundation-l, where many initiatives take root and reports are often announced or published.--Eloquence* 05:46, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Signpost strives to ensure that all articles are as accurate as possible. I spent a long time writing this article, and I apologize for those errors. I will make sure to issue a correction in next week's issue, and apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be on Wikinews? Implificator 17:52, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If Wikinews wishes to cover this, then they may, but the Signpost will still cover any event or news appropriate to Wikipedia, including the Board elections. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
