"Always on the Run" is a song by German singer-songwriter Isaak, released on 19 January 2024 through Good Kid Records and Polydor Records. Self-described as an insight into the singer's "conflicting" mind through a "powerful sound" paired with "calm moments",[2] it is set to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
Eurovision Song Contest[edit]
On 16 February 2024, Guderian performed at the German national final event for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 alongside eight other contestants.[3] Ahead of his performance, the singer had not been favoured as a contestant.[1] The ballot was evenly divided in viewer voting and the assessment by an international jury, both of which assigned him with the maximum 12 points, for a total of 24 points, 4 ahead of runner-up Max Mutzke.[4]
Shortly after the national final, it was announced that the word "shit" in the song's lyrics would be changed, as required by the contest's regulations prohibiting vulgar language.[5]
