Paul S. Todd (B. November 20, 1967-) is a New Zealand commercial and editorial sports photographer. His sports photography most predominantly features the sport of professional sailing.

Biography[edit]

Born in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand in 1967, Paul S.Todd grew up sailing in the Pacific with his family.

Being a part of the sailmaking and sailing trade led to Todd’s pursuit and passion for photographing the sport. Todd was mentored by sailing photographers Carlo Borhlinghi, Onne Van Der Wahl and Bob Greiser. Todd currently is tasked with a role as a reconnaissance photographer for the 37th America’s Cup[1] Joint Reconnaissance Programme[2] in Barcelona, Spain. The 37th America’s Cup will be the 10th Cycle of the cup that Todd will document. Todd also founded a stock photography library — Outside Images Photo Library. This library hosts the largest collection of America’s Cup photography and 600,000+ nautical and marine stock images.

Work[edit]

Todd has photographed the Volvo Ocean Race, the America’s Cup and the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series among others. Todd’s work is also prominently featured in exhibits in The National Sailing Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.

His editorial work has been widely published in Sailing World Magazine, Seahorse Magazine, and Outside Magazine. His work for the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series’ was also featured in Paul-Gérard Pasol’s Coffee Table book, Louis Vuitton: The Birth of Modern Luxury. Louis Vuitton also selected his work from the 2009 Louis Vuitton Pacific Series for the interior of the Louis Vuitton boutique in Gustavia, St. Barthélemy. Some of his most notable editorial and commercial work includes The New York Yacht Club, Rolex, Camper, Helly Hansen, Omega, Proctor and Gamble.
