Pet Simulator is a game on Roblox known for putting pets in its game with their game studio Big games and preston. This series has went down as on of the most Popular series on Roblox as of 2024. Pet Simulator was just going to be one of Preston's fun games to play with friends then it became popular due to Roblox Youtubers trying to find games to play and got to be in a RB Battles episode. Then Preston made a game studio called Big Games Pets then Preston wanted to make a Part 2 to Pet Simulator so him and his team got to work on Pet Simulator 2.Players were wondering if their Gamepases transfer over to the new game and Preston/Big Games said nothing with that tweet.
In February 2019 Pet Simulator 2 came out for players to play but people saw that auto clickers were not useful since you now had to collect it yourself and players thought that it has just hard to go from place to place in the game so latter in 2020 Preston said that he would make a new Pet Simulator then in January 2021 Big Games made Pet Simulator X and the game came out with game passes that would change the game. People say they break the TOS by letting you put codes in the Game that give you pets just like what Piggy did but could not do it and people say that when they made NFTS they also broke the TOS but in 2023 they game was getting dry so they made a new game. Roblox Pet Simulator 99 came out on December 2 2023 as the 4th pet simulator with them banning people who dislike their game and this happend to Nightfox and more due to this new game changer called clans. People say they gave pets to people who hacked the game and then Big games sated banning people witch put people to Burn their plush.

Pet Simulator[edit]
Pet Simulator is a simulator game developed by BIG Games Pets. It has a sequel titled Pet Simulator 2. In this game, you collect pets that help you with collecting coins. Work your way through the game to discover new areas and pets that make the grind easier.
Gameplay[edit]
Upon spawning for the first time, you are given a choice to choose a cat or a dog. When selecting either one, you can give it a name, then you can begin collect coins and chests.
Coins is the main currency of the game. There are multiple types of coins in the game. They can be stacked, chests, etc. Higher type biomes award more coins. Coins are used to purchase eggs in order to get better pets.
Eggs are the main way to gain more and better pets. Higher tier eggs require more coins to buy, but will grant better pets than lower tier pets.
Trading is a major mechanic in Pet Simulator. This allows players to trade pets, in order to gain ones they don't already have. This however can be cheated, as you can give new players powerful pets.
There are many biomes to be explored in this game. There are currently 3 main worlds, which in those worlds are splitted into sections. The 3 main worlds are Overworld, Moon, and Winter Wonderland.
Developer Products and Gamepasses[edit]
Pet Simulator has an assortment of gamepasses. They are currently 15 gamepasses that can be purchased. They can range from teleportation, higher luck for rarer pets, multiple egg opening, more inventory space, etc.
Pet Simulator 2[edit]
Pet Simulator 2 is a simulator game developed by BIG Games Pets. It is the sequel to the formerly popular simulator titled Pet Simulator.
Gameplay[edit]
Much like the first titled game, you have to collect coins, gems, and presents with your pets by clicking on them. By collecting these currencies you can unlock new worlds, or hatch an egg to get a new pet. As of Update 1 a player can create golden pets which have 2x the strength of their normal version. These golden pets can be made using the Golden Machine at spawn, when you unlock the "Golden Pets" upgrade. All upgrades are unlocked by progressing through the game, and unlike most other simulator games there are no gamepasses to buy.
Pet Simulator X[edit]
Pet Simulator X is a Roblox experience developed by BIG Games. It is the third game in the Pet Simulator series.
On March 27, 2022, the game was content deleted, however the deletion was removed later.
Pet Simulator 99[edit]
Pet Simulator 99 is a Roblox experience developed by BIG Games. It is the fourth game in the Pet Simulator series. It was created in February 2022, then was released on December 1st 2023.
The core gameplay is similar to the other installments in the franchise, revolving around hatching eggs out of pets, collecting currencies and unlocking more areas and pet eggs. However, pets now break obstacles on their own and the players can damage obstacles yourself by tapping them. When the 'pets follow taps'-setting is on, the pets of the player with this setting on also go to that obstacle.
Criticism[edit]
Pet Simulator 99 was criticized for being pay-to-win and for encouraging child gambling, although most people see the game as more free-to-play than the other series of Pet Simulator games.
Controversy[edit]
On 29 October 2021 BIG Games announced that they had minted a series of Earthquake (NFTs) based around the pets seen in Pet Simulator, saying that users who purchase the NFTs would receive in-experience benefits, including the ability to own the pets featured in their NFT collection. This announcement was met with overwhelming amounts of community backlash, with most users pointing out the use of NFTs in art scams and the environmental harm caused by minting and purchasing NFTs. Others pointed out that the NFTs were against Roblox's Terms of Service, which stated that Roblox would not allow "deceptive schemes on our platform, including [..] selling Roblox assets for real money off-platform."
BuildIntoGames denied these criticisms, stating that the Terms of Service clause only applied to users who were using black market websites to sell limiteds for real-world money. He also stated that they never minted the NFTs "with morality in mind", stating that they only got involved with NFTs because they thought the tech behind it was cool. BuildIntoGames' response sparked further community backlash.
In response, BuildIntoGames donated $25,000 to MrBeast's #TeamSeas charity, saying "I don't hate the environment.. I'm just a geek that thinks blockchain is cool." This donation received mixed reactions, with many praising BuildIntoGames for donating to help the environment, but others claiming that he only made the donation to virtue signal and that if he truly wanted to help the environment, he should scrap his NFT project. These responses were largely ignored, and all twelve NFTs would go on to sell for a total price of US$153,686.72, emitting 576 kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere, or the equivalent of using a computer for 10 years or 12,000 kilometers (nine-tenths the diameter of Earth). Consequentially, BuildIntoGames would end up making a profit from selling these NFTs, despite the massive amounts of backlash that he received for minting them. Shedletsky, who enthusiastically supports NFTs and cryptocurrency, would point out this number as the NFTs were selling out, which prompted further community backlash from various YouTube celebrities, such as KonekoKittenWasTaken, StarCode_RealKreek, and ImNotThinknoodles, and other developers.
On November 17, 2021, Roblox issued a statement following the NFT auction, stating that they would be "conducting an internal review of what occurred on and off of the platform. Once we have concluded our review, we will resolve it with the developer." The following day, Roblox issued the following ruling, prohibiting the sale of NFTs in exchange for on-platform experiences or items. An update to the Community Standards section of the Roblox Terms of Service was made to reflect this ruling.

When off-platform transactions occur that are tied to on-platform items or experiences, it is impossible for us to monitor the details of that event and it blocks our ability to validate or mediate any claims. Moreover, it can also violate the terms of our app store partners. In some scenarios, it can be okay to give away something off-platform (such as over social media) for free as part of community-building efforts.
To clarify this, we have updated the Roblox Economy section of the Community Standards to be even more explicit about what is not allowed.
Pet Simulator X gained an additional 2,239 dislikes (an approval rating dip to 95.735% from 95.773%, according to RoMonitor Stats) following the NFT announcement post, a significant uptick from receiving only a few hundred dislikes over the same 48 hour time span on any other given day.
One consistent form of controversy is how the game was responsible for over 85% of website outages within the past year. Many fans, even fans of the game, agree that one game tanking Roblox servers for all users is not a good sign. (hi)
