The Starcraft II Esl Pro Tour is the direct successor to the Blizzard ran StarCraft II World Championship Series, ran by ESL, DreamHack and funded by Blizzard intended to combine the legacies of StarCraft II's longest running tournaments.[1]

Competition Structure[edit]

The current iteration of the Starcraft II ESL Pro Tour features multiple tournaments across the year all contributing points to their ranking system they call the EPT Pro Tour Standings.

These Points can earn you a qualifying spot at the world championship and reset yearly. The tournaments that are a part of and contribute to the EPT Standings are the Global StarCraft II League (GSL), the AfreecaTV Champions Cup[2], DH SC2 Masters Winter & Summer, Intel Extreme Masters(IEM), the weekly ESL Open Cup and as of 2024 the Esports World Cup (formerly Gamers8).[3]
