Lakan (Persian: لاكان), also Romanized as Lākān; also known as Sīmbar-e Lākān,[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Lakan Rural District of the Central District of Rasht County, Gilan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 5,314 in 1,463 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 302 people in 89 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 284 people in 107 households.[2]
