Suggestion[edit]

{{editprotected}} In one of the views on the rfc for users to have the autoconfirmed persmission to create new articles it was said that deterring new users from creating articles that could potentially get deleted, it'd be better to include information on how they can create and develop their article in a sandbox and point them to WP:YFA. I certainly think that'd be a great idea and in doing so the NPP-ers would have a lighter workload, considering a majority of NPs are CSD'd because the user has not familarised themselves with editing, let alone article writing. Deleting an article made by a new user comes across as bitey and aren't we trying to encourage new users to stay? Thoughts? —Ancient ApparitionChampagne? • 5:09pm • 07:09, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good suggestion, but the {{editprotected}} template is for requesting a very specific edit to be made to a protected page. I have therefore removed the request at this point, since there has been no discussion yet. Feel free to re-request later. Regards, decltype (talk) 07:59, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Signing[edit]

Is there someway to include the standard editor button for signing as well as typing four tildes? I suspect most users don't actually type them.--Carwil (talk) 19:30, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page no longer being served after account creation[edit]

Just a note that it seems this page is no longer the last step in the account creation workflow, so please disregard the current content. Someone more familiar with the mediawiki namespace than I am should take a look and see if it's possible to archive or delete it without breaking anything. It would be best to avoid deleting it and restore the default content. --Nemo 12:30, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The current version of the page attempts to redirect to Community Portal. That doesn't work, so this message is effectively blank. It's quite misleading. Judging from MediaWiki:loginprompt, one way to blank out a message is to just put an HTML comment in it, i.e. <!-- -->. -- S Page (WMF) (talk) 09:24, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
