Broadcast through Satellite and Cable, UBC is exploiting a loophole in the law to make a new television channel. using the original license and circumvents the original requirement that Channel 11 cannot have ads.

Col. Ruamnakhon and Channel 11 executives persuaded Sondhi Limthongkul to be hired to produce programs for Channel 11/1 under the name 11News1 as satellite television. and broadcast on UBC Channel 8, but later on Channel 11 News1 was removed from UBC In September 2004, due to internal problems of UBC complained and criticized about hidden advertising

News presentation of News1 channel via ASTV tends to focus mainly on political, social and economic news, especially in politics.

This is due to liquidity problems, according to other businesses in the Manager Group which bears debts of more than 6,000 million baht and has accumulated losses for many years, ASTV is currently raising funds from both Thai and foreign retail investors. By selling ASTV shares at a price of 1,000 baht per share, which has already sold tens of thousands of shares

In 2008, ASTV broadcast live broadcasts of the People's Alliance for Democracy rally for 24 hours on News1 channel, including channels under ASTV.

All ASTV business, assets, liabilities, obligations, employees, frequency spectrum, copyright from CAT and TV station News1 of Pol. Col. Ruamnakorn were officially transferred to ASTV News1 channel in 2005.

Later on October 17, 2011 at 5:30 PM, the TV station ASTV had to be turned off. Since there is no rental fee for the satellite in the amount of 9 million baht, but still broadcasting via the Internet and the manager's website is still open for operation. Which is currently able to watch ASTV as usual on all channels.[1]

Until on May 20, 2014, Martial Law was declared throughout the kingdom and orders for satellite television stations temporarily suspended broadcasting, one of them is ASTV.
