Glaring redlink in this portal... Cirt (talk) 05:57, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are a lot of redlinks here for a featured portal. I don't have time now, but I'm leaving this comment here as a reminder to myself to start maintaining it - I think the one of the main contributors to it has become inactive. ~ Riana 22:12, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The portal used to be maintained by DarkFalls and Daniel, but they've both kind of moved on to other things. I did a few updates late last year, then got distracted by ships articles. Sorry about that. The "In the news" and "Did you know?" also ened updating, as neither are particularly current. Will have a look for something to fix the redlinks amongst recent featured content. Meanwhile, almost 3 years later, and that glaring red link is still sitting there.Alishakitty (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:01, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No reference to Aboriginal pre-history[edit]

'NSW was founded in 1788' can be considered disrespectful to the Aboriginal Australians who have inhabited the territory for thousands of years, in what is commonly known as NSW (for the past 200+ years). It is proposed to amend to read 'With a pre-history spanning over 60,000 years, the territory now known as New South Wales was occupied by Australian Aborigines prior to European settlement. NSW was founded by European settlers in 1788....' Feedback and discussion are welcome. Rangasyd (talk) 13:28, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Red links[edit]

Since the "selected article" and "selected picture" boxes weren't being maintained, I've switched both of them to use {{Random portal component}} instead. -- John of Reading (talk) 18:00, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject[edit]

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:39, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
