Issues[edit]

Although there have been significant improvements to the content of the article (including the added information), there continues to be issues with the article POV. Would it be better to rewrite the body paragraphs to include less information on liberal feminism or more information about other viewpoints? Kat975 (talk) 16:13, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is a huge digression into the role of the Fist Lady in American politics.

The article is riddled with POV-in-WP's voice.

There is only a liberal feminist interpretation, making the article unbalanced.

Only a few of the 27 planks are even mentioned.

-- I agree that there needs to be more work here on the platforms to balance the digression into FIRST Ladies, who while they played very visual and supportive roles, were not the focus. Mellydoll (talk) 13:39, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article was meant to discuss the National Women's Conference in 1977, which it does a good job of, but it also kind of just jumps right into the role of first ladies in American Politics and then reproductive rights. Both are very important to feminism, which is the theme of this article, but not what it was specifically meant to focus on. the links/sources seem to work and be applicable. The information pertaining to the event itself and who was in attendance is accurate. This article brings up a lot of issues, but does not go deep in detail about these topics, which leaves a lot to be unpacked by the reader. For example, paragraph 3 is a list of multiple issues women in this era faced, but it only really skims the surface of these issues and then quickly moves on to other points. There were 26 points to the women's plan of action at the conference, but the author chose only a few to touch on. I think the bulleted list of the 26 points should be hyperlinked to more on each individual issue so the author wouldn't have to necessarily pick and choose what to go in-depth with. Added information[edit]

We added information to the National Plan of Action section and the Event section to further explain the 26 planks as well as who attended the convention. Sjt0238 (talk) 02:34, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
