Kanssa City[edit]

Many people at the time thought that KU was giving an unfair advantage because Lawernce is only 30 miles away. (But the venue was choosen long before KU made it to the Final Four.) It also was a Big 8 showdown. But that same year Oklahoma won in Kemper for the Big Eight basketball championship. Many people in the media tended to nickname Kemper Arena "Allen Fieldhouse East" do to the closeness and huge fan base in Kansas City. Moonraker0022 04:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
