Inclusion of A Championship teams[edit]

A quote from the official LOI website:

The A Championship was introduced for the first time in 2008, acting as a third tier of the eircom League of Ireland.

Sixteen clubs compete in the A Championship, thirteen of whom are already represented in either the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division or First Division.

Since Mervue United have beat Kildare County in the promotion/relegation play-offs, the two sides have basically swapped divisions for 2009. In any case, the quote above clearly states that the A championship clubs are also members of the LOI and thus should be included as well. --Hockey-holic (talk) 15:38, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No they should not. The A league is strictly for non league clubs. For example the media do not carry results from the A league as it is not the LOI. There are only two tiers in the LOI. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.3.215 (talk) 13:29, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
