Welcome to the WikiProject on Irish association football (including football in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). This page contains suggestions on how to improve the articles on the subject. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page or include yourself as a participant below.

This descendant project's parent-project is the WikiProject Football.

Scope[edit]

This WikiProject aims primarily to establish and organise standards for Irish football-related articles, resulting in well-structured and well-written articles, and also making all articles related to Irish football easy to find. Also, the project plans improve Wikipedia's coverage of Irish football, to form a co-operative effort of contributions amongst Irish football editors and aid the collaboration of editors with an interest in Irish football, as well as to provide an area where contributors interested in Irish football can identify each other and discuss any issues relevant to their area of interest or where they want to direct their activities.

Goals[edit]

Write and maintain articles:

on an overview of football in Ireland, including the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
on youth national teams in both countries.
on women's national teams in both countries.
on all notable football clubs in Ireland.
on all notable football players in Ireland.
on all notable football stadiums in Ireland.
on all notable football competitions in Ireland.
on all past seasons in the League of Ireland and the Irish League.
on all notable matches and derbies in Irish football.

Improve articles:

to make them comply with standards set up here and on the parent-project.
to develop them into featured articles eventually.

Categorise articles:

to make it easy to find what you want to find.
