Men's[edit]

@Mjs32193: In 2017, 2017–18 Texas Southern Tigers men's basketball team was moved to 2017–18 Texas Southern Tigers basketball team (i.e. "men's" was removed) with the comment "consistency". However, of the 68 teams listed, 63 of them use that form of article name (with "men's"). The other 5 are:

Yes, these are all about men's teams (women are not mentioned).

It seems these five (as well as other years, the non-year articles like Texas Southern Tigers men's basketball, maybe other sports, etc.) should be moved back to the "men's" version of the titles for consistency, right? There might be others that will show up in other years, too. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 07:55, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The general rule for naming teams is to add "men's" to differentiate from "women's". If there is no women's team or the women's team has a different name, i.e "lady Tigers" in this case, then there is no need to add "men's" or "women's". That is the case for the other teams you listed as well. Mjs32193 (talk) 20:03, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
