Democratic Cadidates[edit]

The list of democratic candidates needs citations. ~~ livingfractal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Livingfractal (talkcontribs) 21:17, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Endorsements[edit]

Why did someone revert all my edits when I put that Lindsey Graham endorsed Lara trump in an endorsements box and also another source I added to one of the people running? Please add it back. Anish631 (talk) 20:04, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Anish631[reply]

A hypothetical “I’d support her if she was the nominee” is not an official endorsement. Toa Nidhiki05 20:11, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Lindsey Graham said, "If she runs, I certainly will be behind her, because I think she represents the future of the Republican Party.", I would say that qualifies as an endorsement.Anish631 (talk) 22:10, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Anish631[reply]
It's not an endorsement, and a lot of the endorsements people add to pages are not actually endorsements. Plus, she's not even a candidate. Toa Nidhiki05 23:07, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bro saying If she runs I am gonna be behind her is an endorsement, also candidates don't have to announce they are running to have endorsements, we do this on wikipedia all the time. Please reinstate my edits. Anish631 (talk) 20:39, 4 March 2021 (UTC) Anish631[reply]

Why did somebody remove my sources from Cheri Beasleys endorsements and replace them with her tweet Michael usfg (talk) 20:38, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Candidate tables[edit]

Are we putting pictures with Candidates now? Cause that needs to Bec hanged on many other pages now if so. I recommend we keep it the same as its been unless there's broad consensus. (Aricmfergie (talk) 19:53, 8 March 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Yes, yes we are. And it has already Beenc hanged on many other pages for 2021 and 2022 U.S. elections. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BottleOfChocolateMilk (talkcontribs) 20:16, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, we aren't. This isn't standard and isn't something that has been agreed upon by any WikiProject or MOS-related decision. They look terrible and add nothing of value. Toa Nidhiki05 18:43, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Banwart's notability[edit]

I noticed my tagging of Jen Banwart as possibly unnotable was reversed, without any discussion. Per the sanctions on this page, I may mot replace it without 1. adding a discussion, and then 2. waiting 1 day, so this is that. Bettering the Wiki (talk) 03:46, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since I received no reply, positive or negative, I am readding it. Bettering the Wiki (talk) 05:23, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war[edit]

What's up with the edit war over Beasley's endorsements? It's been just deleting and replacing them for days now. SorichZiSorania (talk) 06:50, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I could have reported the other user quite a while ago but I honestly want to see how long they will go. Toa Nidhiki05 11:08, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've restored the endorsements; she's a declared candidate, and it's not clear why you are removing sourced entries, especially this, which seems pretty unequivocal. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:41, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Read Wikipedia:Political endorsements, which specifically notes that only endorsements from reliable sources should be added - tweets do not count. Please revert your edit, Ohnoitsjamie, or I will. Toa Nidhiki05 14:44, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Photo galleries[edit]

@Toa Nidhiki05: What's the issue with the photo galleries? It seems to me they fix all the issues that people had with photo tables. They only take up one line and for those using a screen reader, the plaintext list is still there if they need it. And I don't think "other pages don't do this" is a very good argument considering WP:OTHERCONTENT, plus I'm sure I could point out a trillion noteworthy differences between Wikipedia election articles. Adding photos breaks up what would otherwise be a bland wall of text and helps put a face to the names, so I think the page benefits from having them. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 21:07, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it benefits anything - it's just clutter. These sections also tend to be prone to images that violate copyright laws, and don't include every candidate - possibly favoring some and not others. There is a reason the vast, vast, vast majority of pages don't do this. Toa Nidhiki05 22:54, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just because something isn't essential information doesn't mean it's "clutter." Just because people sometimes use this to break the rules doesn't mean we should get rid of it. Your third point is valid, though I personally don't think this is enough of a reason to get rid of them - wondering what others think. And as for that last bit, you could literally say that in response to any proposed change, and it's not true. As far as I'm aware there's never been a discussion amongst administrators about this, so the reason that most pages don't have this is, in fact, because *nobody has added them to those pages*. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 00:03, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Toa Nidhiki05: unless I hear from you or anyone else about this within the next day or so, I'm adding back the galleries. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 03:29, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Again, there's no reason to add these. I would suggest participating in the discussion at the Elections WikiProject on this matter; there's a reason we don't do this. Toa Nidhiki05 14:15, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Toa Nidhiki05: There is a reason to add these, I explained why in my first message but you just kind of ignored that bit and didn't respond to it. And as explained in my second message, you can't say "there's a reason we don't do this," because there isn't a reason, because (as far as I know) there has never been a consensus against doing it. You could make this same argument against any proposed change no matter how minute, and I don't think you would try to argue that every change needs a long-drawn out discussion. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 21:27, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They never responded so I'm adding back the galleries. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 00:35, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Primary election date[edit]

When is the primary for this seat, with sources? Bettering the Wiki (talk) 04:03, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the date of the primary (March 8, 2022) to the main article and sourced it to the official website of the National Conference of State Legislatures. I removed the missing info banner as well.--Steelers3814 (talk) 06:23, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Um, what's going on with the graphical summary for Republican primary polling?[edit]

The graphical summary for Republican polling appears to bend the laws of time and space. Several of the curves intersect themselves, and none of them represent mathematical functions, which should always be the case when graphing an average of something over time. Oooooooseven (talk) 02:31, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Somewhat fixed. This seems to stem from the fact that one of the dates in the chart only includes year and month but not the day because the news source of the poll doesn't mention it. twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 02:44, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Beasley Photo[edit]

Is there a better photo for Cheri Beasley? Even though the new photo from the "HBCU The Road to Justice Tour" is slightly better, it is still of low quality. There are plenty of HQ photos of Beasley (examples here and here) but I am not a regular editor and I know there are many guidelines when it comes to photos so they may be unsuitable for the article. —  - Cuddle567wow (talkcontribs) 03:31, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

fix the banner image on mobile / app[edit]

When you visit the page on the app the banner image is the republican candidate's portrait. Would it make more sense for it to be the state seal of NC? This is what is done on other pages. Not sure where I can find the guidelines for this or what content on the page needs to be edited for these changes to go into effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XHeliotrope (talkcontribs) 22:01, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This kind of thing is set automatically, I believe, and it's usually the first image in an election article which tends to be the portrait of a candidate. If the state seal is shown in other pages, it's probably only because there are no images in the infobox, thus the state seal in the elections sidebar template is the first image. twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 01:12, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is not true. The other pages have both candidates portraits and the seal and the seal is still chosen.
I asked the developers and they said it is set by the content. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T309481 XHeliotrope (talk) 11:55, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ok, i figured it out, its not the content from this page - its from the template of the elections infobox. i will solve the issue there. thanks! XHeliotrope (talk) 14:48, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

General election debate[edit]

Can someone add a section or table on the just-announced debate in the General, on Spectrum News 1 North Carolina? Bettering the Wiki (talk) 04:42, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. —twotwofourtysix(talk || edits) 09:12, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
