– Per WP:COMMONNAME. Using the year generates a lot more search results than the current article titles (e.g. Compare "Super League XXIX" with "2024 Super League", "Super League XX" with "2015 Super League" etc.). I also cannot see any mention of the current season, "Super League XXIX", on the Super League's own website, so if roman numerals were ever part of the official name in the past, it doesn't appear that the competition brands itself like that anymore.
Note: "1997 Super League season" is currently a disambiguation page, due to the short-lived Australian league with the same name. While I believe the UK/European league is probably the primary topic, I have given it a separate title to avoid de-railing the main purpose of requesting these moves. Support on the basis that people will search "2024 Super League" over "Super League XXIX". Can't find any evidence that either are official. Re 1997, "1997 Super League season" and "1997 Australian Super League season" due to UK being primary topic. Mn1548 (talk) 10:55, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Agree that the roman numerals have disappeared from the 2024 season description and it makes sense to follow the same pattern for the previous years. --Bcp67 (talk) 14:01, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Do we actually need "season" in the title of the new articles? Most sports leagues season articles don't seem to include season in the title. --Bcp67 (talk) 14:01, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All of the NRL and pre-Super League season articles are named that way, so it would make sense to keep 'season' in for the sake of consistency. J Mo 101 (talk) 16:22, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I don't see why it should be renamed?.. there's no pages been created for the 2021-2023 seasons...? Not that it would matter anyway? 🤔 – 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 L1amw90  (🗣️ talk to me  • ✍️ contribs) 15:01, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support – the year is always used in news articles on the RFL website, and this is likely to still be the case in the 2025 season as internet searches using roman numerals will get disagreeable results. EdwardUK (talk) 22:42, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support- Super League did previously name seasons using Roman numerals, Im not sure the exact year they stopped doing this but it does make sense to rename every season after the year Northern Wonder (talk) 20:28, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
