Picture Please[edit]

I have never seen this kind of battery in stores, and I guess that it's not as common as a 9v or a AA, so could someone please obtain a photo of one? Thanks!Ilikefood 20:36, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Do we really need separate articles on each *size* of battery? AAAA, AAA, AA, etc. can all be merged into one article. --Wtshymanski 23:07, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Poorly written[edit]

Nine Volt battery = 6 AAAA?[edit]

6 AAAA Welded? Soldered maybe[edit]

The the phrase "connected together by welded tabs." bothers me as I always though they were soldered. The [MSDS PDF] mentions lead, but not solder specifically. Any references to how the 6 x 1.5's are bonded together into a 9V?

Why did you think they were soldered? Welded tabs are incredibly common on dry cells. The Battery Handbook edited by Linden says (5,4,1) that soldering wires from one zinc can to the next postive post is still common in Leclanche batteries, but that welding is the preferred method for most other battery systems. I seem to recall dismantling 9 V Leclanche cells for their connector snaps and sometimes finding a wire on one terminal, sometimes finding a welded strip - but these always used flat cells, not R61s. Any alkaline 9V I've taken apart (it's been a while) uses tabs and strips. --Wtshymanski (talk) 15:38, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merging this article with "List of battery sizes"[edit]

I've reverted changes made by Wtshymanski, which made this page redirect to List of battery sizes, as this was done without any consultation on the talk page. However, it may make sense to merge this page into the List of battery sizes page. I have also reverted similar changes made by Wtshymanski to AAA battery, AA battery, C battery, and D battery pages. --Supergloom (talk) 10:37, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's fairly ludicrous to have an "article" on each size of dry cell. You might as well have articles on a "4-pack" of AA, a "6-pack", a "2-pack" or a "20-pack". Wikipedia is not a martketing guide for batteries nor is it a parts catalog. --Wtshymanski (talk) 17:06, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
