I don't undertsand this.Can someone please explain?

Gladly. 'Ae' is an indefinite article in Scots. The Robert Burns song 'Ae Fond kiss' is what you hear not long after the beginning of the film (sung by the schoolgirl after Casim and his sister have exited Roisin's classroom). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.25.194.76 (talk) 11:25, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

Does anyone have an opinion whether the more popular meaning of "Ae Fond Kiss" is the original poem by Robert Burns rather than this film? If so, perhaps this article be moved to "Ae Fond Kiss (film)". Some of Burns' other famous works have articles in their own right. JMcC (talk) 19:52, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support move to Ae Fond Kiss (film) only. Looking at Google Scholar and Google Books, the ellipsis is dropped just as often as it is used, if not more. Replacing the ellipsis with "(film)" seems fine. Erik (talk | contrib) ^{(ping me)} 12:52, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
