Unreliable sourcing for DNA test claim[edit]

The DNA testing sourcing traces back to an article from "The Siberian Times", a tabloid described by wikipedia with the following line: > According to Mashable, its stories are "allegedly real with a bit of hyperbole/Siberian fan fiction thrown in". Doubtfulnews.com also referred to the website as "not a reliable source for news". I have removed the section until a reliable source can be found - for information this big/significant, surely we can do better than a tabloid that's claimed a Russian TV show was hosting "the real hunger games."

I'm skeptical of the Montefiore claim as well - Young Stalin sources the claim to a "source in the soviet archives" that no other person has been able to verify. Unverifiable claims should not be taken at face value, but I'll leave it for now. Aachenshinto (talk) 00:17, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The new source, Komsomolskaya Pravda, isn't any better. it's a Russian tabloid that has claimed, among other things:

- that the United States had orchestrated the Charlie Hebdo shooting. (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/11340360/Did-the-Americans-plan-the-Paris-terror-attacks-asks-leading-Russian-tabloid.html)

- that Ukraine is planning to use a dirty bomb in Donbass (https://www.kp.ru/daily/27365/4546576/)

- that "Ukraine was preparing biological weapons ordered by the United States (https://www.kp.ru/daily/27373/4555101/)

it's clearly not a reliable source in any regard... I'm removing the DNA section once again. Please only re-add after a RELIABLE, NON-TABLOID SOURCE is found. Aachenshinto (talk) 19:40, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
