Links for school[edit]

Jax MN Please link to the Dental Schools if they have pages. Also, I think we are going to have to *eventually* put these in order of chartering. Zeta (before merging) will end up as one of the first two.Naraht (talk) 12:59, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Will do. I agree on both counts. The naming pattern is exceedingly disjointed for this organization, more than any other group's article I've worked on. Our work is is further complicated by the fact that the official website neglects to list its dormant chapters, or installation dates/range. Jax MN (talk) 16:51, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Readers, the standard we follow within the Fraternity and Sorority Project is to list chapters by default in order of formation. Even if they exist for only a short time, their names get precedence in any list. This is why, for this national society, the chapters won't appear in traditional Greek alphabetical order. Still working on doing the links. Then the order.... And shoutout to List of Lambda Chi Alpha chapters for naming pattern! Naraht (talk) 17:33, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Penn and Temple[edit]

It is unclear to me how Penn ended up with Beta chapter without a merger, even though the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery which merged into Penn had hosted Alpha Omega's founding Ramach chapter. Ramach instead moved its charter to Temple, which, though Temple had previously absorbed some faculty twenty years prior from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery, by then that was long in the rear view mirror. Why combine with Theta? Was this simply due to members' choices in where they transferred? The schools are near to each other. Was Theta weaker, and therefore this was an attempt to shore them up? Jax MN, I have no idea. Any clue from the 1933 book? Naraht (talk) 20:23, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've noted it in the article as best I can figure it out. It remains a strange way to split the school, with assets going one way, and the students another. Jax MN (talk) 21:34, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
