WP:NOT[edit]

At least half of this article reads just like a guidebook, which is exactly what Wikipedia is not. Should these parts simply be removed or is somebody planning to rewrite this? — Mütze 16:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Teeth[edit]

I am almost completely certain that Lenny Pickett uses his teeth (i.e. bites) on the reed to get the highest altissimo notes This should be noted in the article. Badagnani 04:14, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of brass altissimo?[edit]

On woodwinds, altissimo seems to mean the third or higher attainable harmonic (5th and higher on clarinet due to lack of even harmonics). But what is the marking point for brass instruments, and is it different for trumpets/trombones/tubas than it is for horns?

I would imagine that the 9th and higher harmonics would be considered altissimo on brass other than the horn, while the horn altissimo could be defined as starting either at the 13th or 17th depending on your reckoning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Comrade Sephiroth (talkcontribs) 09:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No Altissimo section in Saxophone article[edit]

Since there is no Altissimo section in the Saxophone article, I am removing the link to that supposed section. John Link (talk) 09:18, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
