Can someone add this external link?[edit]

Thrash metal pioneers?[edit]

Misleading, though their music had elements of metal their early releases (including the classic Arise!) were definately in the punk/hardcore/crust genre (crossover if you will but less use of the moderate to fast to extremely fast tempo changes found in that genre). If your talking thrash metal as in Dark Angel Metallica and Slayer this is wrong.

I thought this was a little strange as well. If anything it seems like doom metal/sludge metal to me. Olliegrind 11:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doom[edit]

Could Amebix be considered Doom Metal? C'mon, think about it.

I never thought that Amebix was such an old group of the punk-era (after hearing Slave). I thought they were a 90's band along Sepultura and others..

I think Amebix is way more doom than thrash. They may have influenced thrash bands but they play pretty slow. I don't think they should be categorized as thrash metal. Olliegrind 20:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

was Stig from amebix the same Stig from icons of filth? No. Stig from Amebix was not in Icons of Filth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.105.239.206 (talk) 17:26, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

when i think of doom metal i think of alot more sludgey, and more death/apocalypse focused, and not so much political. but your right, amebix is relatively slow to be considered a thrash band. but i wouldnt think of sepultura when i hear amebix, because sepultura is death metal...(209.112.147.44 05:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Bio[edit]

I cleaned up the bio a bit a tried to reference some of it. Unfortunately, I am not too familiar with their history, especially line-up changes. Anyone know their story or have a reliable source? Olliegrind 19:57, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Genre - Thrash?[edit]

This has come up a couple times above. No one has yet made any argument for the band playing thrash metal. I removed this from the infobox. If you feel it should be in there please post below and explain your reasoning. Thanks. BeastmasterGeneral 03:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Influence to[edit]

They influence to Gallhammer a Crust/Doom/Black metal band made in Japan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.126.129.68 (talk) 12:24, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ted leo and the Pharmacists have nothing to do with this genre. Although they may cover an Amebix song not every band that has ever covered Amebix belongs on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.165.167.5 (talk) 22:58, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ted Leo[edit]

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists have been added and removed multiple times from this page. I don't care too much either way but lets have some sort of discussion and come to a consensus/decision on whether or not they should be there. I'm tired of seeing this page pop up in my watchlist going back and forth. BeastmasterGeneral 18:02, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
