German: Vorschlag, Vorhalt[edit]

This is a bit misleading, because while it is a "Vorhalt" (= note not belonging to the scale that is resolved) by harmonics, it is an "Appoggiatura" by notation (i.e. notated in grace notes). In other words: Not every "Vorhalt" is an Appoggiatura.

Clarification[edit]

I'm 99% sure that an appoggiatura is a non-chord tone approached by leap and left by step. That's what I learned in music theory. The examples here don't involve leaping as much, and to me they look like suspensions/retardations.
