Untitled[edit]

I can't find any reference to the sense of Arcadia as the area of Latium ruled by Evander in Virgil's Aeneid, which is to become the place where Rome is founded (modern-day Palatine Hill). Should this have an entry? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.129.120.174 (talkcontribs).

Out of all the available topics here, the region of Greece surely isn't the best one to automatically redirect to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.182.134.229 (talk) 22:35, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved to (regional unit) per Ortizesp's note. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:50, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

– There is no primary topic here given the views[[1]] and the fact that there are over 100 entries on this DAB page. The modern region only seems to get around 10% of the views and wouldn't be that much less if the ancient region was taken as being a sub topic of it. The modern region gets 12,597 but Arcadia (utopia) has 9,624, Arcadia, California has 5,140 (though its common name may be with the state), Arcadia (play) gets 4,644 and Arcadia (band) gets 4,502. Arcadia Group has a staggering 34,525 and its likely that that is usually only called "Arcadia" and that's the term I searched for when I read in the news that it is on the brink of bankruptcy. This is probably recentism but as can be seen the modern region's views has gone up[[2]] probably from people seeking the group. Google only shows the group, Images mainly shows the group but the utopia and California are there and Books appears to show mainly the play but the region(s) are there. Although the utopia meaning is derived from the region it does have long-term significance to and the region has a population of 86,685 but the city in California has 56,364, although that is also named after the region there is no indication that all the uses do and even if they did being the original isn't determinative. • Support, although I don't think (modern region) is the correct disambiguator. I am seeing (regional unit) as the preferred DAB at "Category:Prefectures of Greece".--Ortizesp (talk) 18:55, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I chose it because of the title Arcadia (ancient region) and the fact that the hatnote says "This article is about the modern region of Greece". I'm fine with a different disambiguator if necessary. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:06, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination and Ortizesp. The parenthetical qualifier "(modern region)" does appear to be analogous to "(ancient region)" however, if consensus were to skew towards another qualifier, I would likewise support an alternative. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 08:50, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support Per nom. At the very least there is no primary. I hold no preference on the disambiguation chosen and will go with consensus.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 10:15, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
