Merge[edit]

Propose merging Armenian Oil Business of Baku here. The content can easily be explained in the context of the Armenians in Baku article, which is of a reasonable size. No obvious need of WP:SPLIT. Brandmeistertalk 16:05, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Armenian Oil Business of Baku article was created due to its significance. A short summary of the Armenian Armenian oil business in Baku in the article Armenians of Baku has already been agreed upon and added. The article itself gives a more detailed account and history. Separate article is needed to keep Armenians in Baku page more formal and refined. Best regards, Proudbolsahye

  • Merge. Armenians in Baku were neither a driving force behind the oil industry, nor the controlling power. These businesses were in fact Russian (i.e. registered in the Russian Empire, as Armenia was not yet a state then), which happened to be owned by ethnic Armenians. There is nothing essentially "Armenian" about them except the ethnic origin of their CEOs. By this logic, Lebanon could be called an Armenian state during the presidency of Émile Lahoud, who is half-Armenian. Parishan (talk) 09:16, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge - Are we going to make also an article for Armenian bakers of Baku that made the best lavash? "Armenians in Baku" should cover all. --E4024 (talk) 20:24, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge. I agree with Parishan. There has never been any special Armenian oil industry in Baku. The oil industry was either Russian Imperial or Soviet, and there were entrepreneurs and engineers of various ethnicities involved in it. The topic is as absurd as "Swedish Oil Industry of Baku" or "German Oil Industry of Baku", just because Nobel Brothers were Swedish or others were German. • Merge. The article names have been changed from Armenian Oil Industry of Baku to Armenians in the Oil Industry of Baku. Same goes for the Armenian Architecture of Baku being moved to Armenian Architects in Baku. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proudbolsahye (talkcontribs) 23:37, December 7, 2012‎

I propose moving the Armenian Oil Industry of Baku to Armenians in the Oil Industry of Baku. Same goes for the Armenian Architecture of Baku being moved to Armenian Architects in Baku. That would solve that issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proudbolsahye (talkcontribs)
