Family Name[edit]

Would it help to alert English readers that "Adams" as a family name in various spellings is not unique to English, "Adam" being a very old word?

"Defection"[edit]

Use of this term is inappropriate and misleading as it suggests one who has changed his allegiance from his homeland to a foreign power for reasons noble or base. In this case, Adams was born in Sweden and raised in Russia where he became a party member and served as a government official prior to being assigned to espionage work in the United States. So he was a Russian spy, but not an American-a traitor so to speak-who "defected" to the Soviets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.174.233.97 (talk) 16:25, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
