Reverted OR claim

I have again reverted unreferenced claims made about the R18 including... but the monocoque already shows the considerably bigger front bodywork suitable to install a KERS system. If people want to add this information back in I suggest that they include a reference. Bjmullan (talk) 13:04, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Picture

Since there was no picture on this article yet, I went ahead and added one I took yesterday during the 1000km of Spa, the R18's debut race. Hope it's good enough to stay here. :-) Diesel64 (talk) 15:04, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Looks good to me :) Bjmullan (talk) 17:57, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Correct name?

When I created the article I made the conscious decision not to use the TDI in the name as I couldn't find it in any of the press info. I believe this is because the car is likely to have a hybrid configuration in the future and Audi have chosen not to use it. I have now found a Audi press release the talks of the R8, R10 TDI, R15 TDI and the R18 here. Should the article be renamed back? Bjmullan (talk) 11:29, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

I would support changing the name back to just Audi R18, based on that.--Midgrid(talk) 17:34, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Unless there's a contradictory ref, yes, move it back. 4u1e (talk) 22:36, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
I went ahead and moved it back. The official press release you linked to confirms it. --Spyder_Monkey (Talk) 23:01, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
We now have the situation I foreseen when I created this page. We have the R18 TDI, R18 Ultra and R18 e-tron quattro. I don't believe that we should create an article for each of this models but just have sections for each. I therefore propose that the articles name is change back to R18. This is a rough change to the article which would be made with the name change. Any comments or objects to the change? Bjmullan (talk) 21:11, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm all for using the simple Audi R18 common title, just as the Acura ARX-01 series. The359 (Talk) 21:48, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Move and article restructuring complete. Bjmullan (talk) 17:23, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Use of the expression 'tabled'

The meaning of this text "...the rule changes have been tabled over the past few years" is ambiguous between US and UK English. In American English the word 'tabled' means to temporarily put to one side, where in British English it means to put up for discussion. For example to 'table' an item in a meeting would in America mean that it would be suspended for latter discussion, but in the UK it means the exact reverse. My suggestion would be to use a different expression entirely to avoid ambiguity. (Dave Davies 10:50, 30 August 2012 (UTC)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daveayerstdavies (talkcontribs)

EBD

The 2013 car did not use an Exhaust Blown Diffuser, the exhaust was used to create a low pressure area but the exhaust was not sealing the diffuser against tyre squirt as per an EBD — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.22.222 (talk) 15:25, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Few Major Edits.

I created a wikipedia account first to edit the article Audi R18 because of a few mistakes, updates, and fixes. Firstly, I edited the main photo describing the article and the photo of the e-tron quattro. The pictures do not link with the current model being used so I changed them. I also added directories like of Allan McNish in the racing history. I also made changes in mistakes like the four wheel drive of the hybrid version. The car is rear wheel drive like other Audis. If you want proof, there data about it here. As a lover of the Audi R18 and other LMP1 cars, I shall further make edits of this article and further add more information about it for readers to understand more about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by R18 Quattro (talkcontribs) 14:16, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
