Requested move 10 April 2024[edit]

Avante (disambiguation)Avante – Misplaced disambiguation page, no primary topic. —ShelfSkewed Talk 20:50, 7 April 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). – robertsky (talk) 17:14, 10 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Bensci54 (talk) 16:55, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Avante was a primary redirect to Avante! until a recent undiscussed edit. I've reverted that. Appears to be a justified primary redirect. 162 etc. (talk) 00:50, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@162 etc.: It seems fairly clear to me that the newspaper is not the primary topic here, unless there's an overwhelming longterm significance angle that I've missed. See page views, which show it in fifth place, and an order of magnitude below a couple of others.  — Amakuru (talk) 08:28, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    WP:NOPRIMARY is also a possibility. A discussion would be best. 162 etc. (talk) 16:44, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Since "avante" is just Spanish/Portuguese for "forward" or "ahead", I see no basis for their being a primary topic for the term. BD2412 T 18:14, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support Avante! has 169 views but the political party has 1,184 and the album has 10[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:33, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination, BD2412 and Crouch, Swale as well as per comment by Amakuru. The redirect to the newspaper does not overshadow the combined notability of the remaining six entries listed upon the Avante (disambiguation) page. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 19:32, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The newspaper is clearly primary on long-term significance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:16, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question: Is the newspaper consistently referred to with the exclamation mark, or should that use "(newspaper)" or similar? — BarrelProof (talk) 02:52, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I don't find the argument for long-term significance that tennable because the page there is a redirect. There is a natural DAB in the punctuation of the paper. Avante can get the undisambiguated page. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 16:58, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
