Launch[edit]

The school has launched. Classes may not be in session, but the school is opening one way or another.

I have mnade another pass through the article, reducing its promotional quality. I think it's important that the article at all times distinguishes between what it planned and what is actually in existence, which at this point is, for all intents and purposes, nothing. I was on the High Line last night, and it did not look as if the building was going to be ready for occupancy any time soon -- granted that I could only see a couple of floors. As much as possible, let's keep the article focused on what they actually do. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:39, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni/Scope of article[edit]

An IP editor recently tried to add alumni to the article. The information was not sourced (not verified) and the alumni lacked their own articles. I removed according to standard practice on High School articles reflecting that such alumni should first be shown to be notable (through having their own articles) and second that there is verifiable information to demonstrate that they were graduates of Avenues. Long-term I think we'll have to think carefully about what kind of information there is in this article as Avenues is more akin to a school district than an individual school and so it's possible we'll need separate articles for the individual campuses while this article remains focused on the company.
