Article title[edit]

I see a user has moved the article from "Bergen Station" to "Bergen railway station". I disagree with this move, and not least the rationale: "Match WP:LEAD and downcase". Articles must be titled based on two factors: their actual name (which in this case is a translation of "Bergen stasjon", which is what both general literature, NSB and the National Rail Administration call the station), the Manual of Style and to a certain degree, to fit in with other article names. Any individual railway station is a proper noun, and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) states "For page titles, always use lowercase after the first word, and do not capitalize second and subsequent words, unless the title is a proper noun." [my emphasis]. Based on these two simple components, all station articles in Norway have the format Foo Station, and having Bergen in a different situation looks out of place. Note that the Norwegian lower-case spelling of "stasjon" is due to Norwegian having different capitalization rules for proper nouns than English. I am aware that probably 90% of all articles on railway stations are incorrectly capitalized, but that is no excuse to increase the error-rate. After all, most people cannot capitalize (it took myself more than two years on the project to figure out the rules). Regards, Arsenikk (talk) 07:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For once I have to agree with Arsenikk: "Bergen Railway Station" or "Bergen Station" is a better title than "Bergen railway station". Another acceptable title could possibly be "Bergen (railway station)"/"Bergen (station)" but this would be inconsistent with the other articles on Norwegian stations. --Aqwis (talk) 08:51, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
