Fallout 3 Information[edit]

For all who are interested in adding to this article, the developers of Fallout 3 have added their (I'm assuming tentative) addition to the Brotherhood's history here at http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/vault/diaries_diary3-1.09.08.html It will be in the "Vault" section.

External links from fan wikis[edit]

An external link to Nukapedia wiki keeps getting removed based on "being from Fandom", however, this goes against the common practice of linking to Fandom articles on Star Trek and Star Wars articles here on Wikipedia (likely others as well). I've been told its policy to not link to Fandom, but some of the most popular fiction articles do not follow this common practice at all. Both Star Wars and Star Trek articles have a template specifically for linking to fandom articles. Also the argument of any wiki being unstable goes fully against Wookieepeida and Memory Bank Alpha for its most popular articles. Devastatin' DaveZIP ZAP RAP 00:37, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ELNO #12 recommends against linking other Wikis unless they have a substantial history of stability and activity. Nukapedia and FalloutWiki are not particularly big in the grand scheme, nor are they stable with the past schisms and re-mergers. Both Wookieepeida and Memory Bank Alpha are exceptions though, widely regarded as large well maintained and stable sites. -- ferret (talk) 00:42, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How big the wiki is when the article itself is on concepts from Fallout, so it seems nonsensical to link to the site that covers it in-depth. The stability of the site also doesn't seem to apply, since the only events you've referred to were from 2011, and from 2019. I push forward again that the page should link to the wiki that covers in more depth than Wikipedia ever can. 03:27, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Please do not edit war further. I oppose the inclusion. We don't link it on other Fallout articles either. WP:VG has many experienced editors more than capable of judging when a given Fandom/Gamepedia has enough size and stability and activity to warrant inclusion in External Links, and that's not the case here. Most, if not 90-95% of them, do not meet the criteria. -- ferret (talk) 12:11, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I'm saying that this wiki does. If it's big enough to have its own Wikipedia article itself, used by the developers themselves, and is pointed to in online new sources as the wiki about Fallout, it feels like it meets that criteria. Just like MBA and Wookieepedia. Devastatin' DaveZIP ZAP RAP 02:42, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oof, that article. Sourcing is very weak for passing GNG. You can always seek more opinions at WP:VG. -- ferret (talk) 12:31, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

A fair few of the sources here appear to be rank/tier lists done by video game journalists, some not even providing the information they are supposed to corroborate.

As an aside, is it possible to use the original Fallout Bible by Chris Avellone as a supporting source, despite its canonicity? As well as that, what would count as a suitable source to show the existence of multiple off-shoots of the Brotherhood? Scripts from the games? Interviews? etc? Also, anyone who may happen to have access to the Rulebook for Fallout The Role Playing Game and can get it cited faster than me, please do! I need to get it from a legitimate source which can take a while if I'm not careful. Bayley Sherlock (talk) 13:09, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It can be used as a source since there are already sufficient secondary sources to prove the article's notability. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 08:45, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
