Sponsorship[edit]

Added by the same IP as the Vandal, thus should stay removed until cited:

CDNIS has been sponsoring both local and international foundations to promote this school. these foundations include World Vision, UNICEF, Jockey club, West Island International School, Hong Kong Government and the World Cup of 2012. Through the use of above the line promotion, commercials are being broadcast to different parts of the world including China, Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, Causeway Bay, Mongkok, Vincent road, st. Peter's memorial graveyard. Money donated are gain from Dress Down Day event which is hosted on every last Friday of the month. These money either comes from student's own pocket or their parent's pocket. Students who doesn't dress down would be sent to and outing camp and be retaught the importance of saving the world by donating money. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiknerd (talkcontribs) 05:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can testify that this is false, I go to the school and I haven't dressed down about 99% of the dress down days. No consequences whatsoever. 218.188.208.2 (talk) 00:57, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I want to edit this article is because some of the information is outdated. The information about lower school is from last year, and now it is a new school year, so that's why I want to change it. SuperiorGuy2000 (talk) 07:48, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

CDNIS is currently experiencing a serious crisis regarding governance of the school and the capabilities, experience and appointment process of the new head of school. For example in the past 12 months, several board members have resigned, a principal and vice-principal have been terminated and almost the entire teaching faculty has called for the new head of school to resign. A significant portion of parents have made an identical request. The school has brought in a leading independent school governance expert (Marc Frankel) to try to resolve the governance crisis. The Council of International Schools accreditation application was put on hold in March 2015 due to the crisis. All this has played out in public with significant coverage in leading media outlets in Hong Kong and Canada.

Mention that this issue/crisis is underway should be included on the Wikipedia page of the school, though no particular opinions should be noted. I suggest the following wording or similar is added to the end of the first section (just before the sub-section entitled 'Lower School'): "The school is currently experiencing a crisis regarding its governance structure and the appointment of the current head of school, with the school's board, teachers and parents at loggerheads over these issues and the direction of the school. The school has brought in a leading independent school governance expert (Marc Frankel) to try to resolve the governance crisis. The school's recognition for the Council of International Schools accreditation was put on hold in March 2015 due to the crisis."

In the Lower School Section it should be corrected to note that the principal and one of the vice-principal positions are currently vacant. Suggested wording is: "The school is currently hiring for the positions of Lower school Principal and Vice-Principal (Pre Reception - Grade 2) given both positions are vacant. The Vice-Principal of the Lower School for Grade 3-6 is DJ MacPherson (Grade 3-6)."

The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Richard (Che Keung) Wong should be added in the summary box on the right hand side of the page just below the Head of School's name as his position is the most senior position in the school's structure. In addition, I recommend that the full list of The Board of Governors and Members should be included somewhere near the bottom of the page. These are:

Founding Members: Chow, Ki Sun Roger Fong, Wo Felix Lee, Ka Kit Spencer Lee, Kwan Ho Vincent Marshall Li, Kwan In Ng, Ching Wo Wang, Albert Wong, Mary-Jean Wong, Che Keung Richard

Board of Governors: Wong, Che Keung Richard Hwa, Godwin Lam, Philip Chan, Michael Chong, Paul Ho, Isabella Kan, Fred Lau, Brian Lee, Michael Lee, Ka Kit Spencer Lindfors, John, Ng, Jeffrey Thorpe, Evan Li, Kwan-In Sung, Steve Anand, Shalini

All information provide above is in the public domain. Governors and members names are listed on the school's website. Following are three examples of sources for editors to review and consider my suggestions:

Lastly, please note that I am a parent of children attending the school.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 05:45, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you User:Edgars2007

After the following existing paragraph: "For six consecutive years, CDNIS was recognized as the "Leading International School in Hong Kong", by Hong Kong Business'magazine’s High-Flyers campaign. In 2008 and 2009, the Fraser Institute Report Card awarded CDNIS with a 10 out of 10. CDNIS was one of only three school out of more than 700 delivering the Ontario curriculum to achieve this ranking in 2009 and the only school to achieve this ranking for two consecutive years. The school has also been chosen as one of the top private international schools in Hong Kong in the "Top 10 Private International Schools in Hong Kong" list in the China Service Mall site."

add a new paragraph: "The school is currently experiencing a crisis regarding its governance structure and the appointment of the current head of school, with the school's board, teachers and parents at loggerheads over these issues and the direction of the school. The school has brought in a leading independent school governance expert (Marc Frankel) to try to resolve the governance crisis. The school's recognition for the Council of International Schools accreditation was put on hold in March 2015 due to the crisis."

The section titled "Lower School" should be changed to "The school is currently hiring for the positions of Lower school Principal and Vice-Principal (Pre Reception - Grade 2) given both positions are vacant. The Vice-Principal of the Lower School for Grade 3-6 is DJ MacPherson (Grade 3-6). Students in Pre Reception and Reception attend school for either the morning or afternoon session, while Prep to Grade 6 students attend school all-day. Students as young as three and four-years-old attend the half-day Pre Reception and Reception, programmes, designed to provide an introduction to school life. While the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) is officially used from Pre Reception, students also take part in regular Mandarin, performing arts and physical education classes, which are taught by specialist teachers. "

The Info Box should be changed to include the position and name of the Board Chairman as this is the most senior position in the school and to correct the fact that the lower school principal position is vacant. Change relevant section of Info box as follows:

"Principal Position currently vacant (Lower school) Timothy Kaiser (Upper school) Head of school Gregg Maloberti Board Chairman Wong, Che Keung Richard Staff 55[1]"

A new Sub-section called Governance should be added after the Technology sub-section as follows:

"Governance The structure of the school is via a two tiered system comprising of a Board of Governors and Members.

Founding Members: Chow, Ki Sun Roger Fong, Wo Felix Lee, Ka Kit Spencer Lee, Kwan Ho Vincent Marshall Li, Kwan In Ng, Ching Wo Wang, Albert Wong, Mary-Jean Wong, Che Keung Richard

Board of Governors: Wong, Che Keung Richard Hwa, Godwin Lam, Philip Chan, Michael Chong, Paul Ho, Isabella Kan, Fred Lau, Brian Lee, Michael Lee, Ka Kit Spencer Lindfors, John, Ng, Jeffrey Thorpe, Evan Li, Kwan-In Sung, Steve Anand, Shalini "

I restate the public sources for checking.
