Sorry, but whether you're a for-profit organization or not, WP is not the place to advertise your organization. This article needs to be deleted. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 05:27, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

its not an organization and its not an advertisment

please mind your own business and get over yourself

we are not a company and the page is barely started , more users will be adding content and relevant links and information regarding cartoons. i just wanted something here as a place holder so i upped some text i had in a note file, i didn't know that it was a requirement to race to have it done by a certain time, i thought that it was an interactive informational database that could be edited freely when there was something relevant to add or remove. as its more of a side interest and i have little free time i thought i would just add to it slowly. sorry if i offended you in someway

was just looking through the rules here and found this

"Note that simply having a company, product, group or service as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion: an article that is blatant advertising should have inappropriate content as well."

thanks for wasting my time and effort , a simple message would have sufficed , or pointing out what specifically was 'advertising' would have helped

Deletion[edit]

OK, we have a policy here: Don't bite the newbie, and I can tell you feel bitten right now. I don't doubt that you were making an honest effort to create a page about your group, but this is not MySpace. WP is a collaborative attempt to write a free encyclopedia, and the key word there is "encyclopdia". Ask yourself honestly: Does your group really merit an enry in an encyclopedia? Have you been written about in verifiable sources (besides your own sites and pages)? What exactly makes your group notable?

It's unfortunate that your first attempt at writing an article met such a fate (by the way, I didn't delete it myself. An Administrator made that decision after I tagged the article for attention). I must say I was actually impressed with the way you were able to format the article so well for a first effort. You obviously took the time to learn the basics and you did a good job presenting it. The problem was the subject itself; your work actually shows a lot of promise. I'd like to encourage you to try contributing to WP in smaller ways first so you can learn a bit more. It's a lot easier to work on an existing article than to start a new one, and there are a lot of articles that could use help. A lot! If you have any other questions or comments you can contact me on my Talkpage. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 06:22, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

i appreciate the reply , i will reformulate according to guidelines probably attached to a related subject , also i would like to add that if you google our groups name you get over 130 results , which is not huge i know , but still , it would have been nice for us to have a place to organize and share all our little bits of information in one place and this format seemed to suit that need best , perhaps you know of a better site , myspace is out of the question and we do have a group page on frappr which doesn't really function like this at all
There are other wikis that have different sets of standards and you might be fine with one of those. I'm not personally familiar with them so I can't give you a specific site, but good luck. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 07:56, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed edit[edit]

This could be a useful redirect to Cartoon Cartoons. Peter O. (Talk) 04:03, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I expected to find here, so I tend to agree. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 04:08, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
