Murder category[edit]

Are we going to add every building in which there is a murder to the Murder in Tennessee category? Bms4880 (talk) 23:45, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Why Central? AND, was the name originally Central? Knoxville has a South H.S., a West, and formerly an East. Why was the Fountain City H.S. not called North? For 50 years I have wondered about it, and this is as good a forum as any. I'm not talking about OR. There myst be some record somewhere. Brine, you seem quite knowledgable about east Tennessee history, with an inclination to accuracy. ORlady. Somebody. I'm being sincere. I am far away. I will make an effort to learn long distance, but there are limits to what I can accomplish. rags 20:32, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

Holbrook College, a 'normal' school, which is a teacher's school, originally on the level of a high school, operated by a Holbrook family of educators of Ohio. When they didn't prosper, the physical plant was sold to a group of Baptists, who decided not to open a college due to the nearby Mossy Creek school, which eventually morphed into Carson-Newman College. The "Fountain Head" (Fointain City) location was unused for about 2 years before Knox County hired the first principal and started a high school. The main bldg had no heat or water/sanitary facilities at first.

I'm not sure. Keep in mind, Fountain City wasn't part of Knoxville when the school was originally established. BrineStans (talk) 15:44, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
