LDS?[edit]

The Church... of Latter-day Saints does seem to have a substantial following in Thailand. Their website reports 15,457 members, so they probably should be mentioned here too. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:47, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Latter-day Saints, by many expert estimations, are not counted as christians. I think, they should not be mentioned in the article. Ans-mo (talk) 13:36, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the first half-sentence of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stating that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fourth largest Christian denomination in the United States doesn't seem to point that out. Sorry if I was misunderstood. --Paul_012 (talk) 20:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, most Christian denominations (Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestants) do not count LDS's as christians. Maybe some part of outside observers count them as christians. My personal opinion is, that they should not be mentioned in this article. Ans-mo (talk) 07:36, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As an expert on the theological nuances, I can verify Paul's opinion. Christianity in a global sense requires a confirmation of the doctrine of the trinity, formulas for which exist since the time of the Apostles Creed and which was later clarified in a series of councils. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the book of Moroni and in official church documents holds not to a trinity, but to a binity and it's anthropomorphic view of God is also rejected by Christian Church tradition. Finally, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has no affiliation to and participation as members in global ecumenical or evangelical Christian organizations. More than you wanted to know, I'm sure. Let's find a place for them in the general page of religions in Thailand. And like I said before, their numerical headcounts may not be valid or reliable. I urge caution. User:sanamjun_guy (talk) 13:53, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Many small churches[edit]

There are many home based churches in Thailand and increasing Christian activity, like Christians in Phuket.
