"Rock music"[edit]

The bar a the side lists this album as "Rock music". Regardless of whether it's any good as a classical piece of music it certainly is not rock music! (unsigned)

Well, it is surely not classical music either, we refere as classical the canon of Western Music, including late baroque, classicist and early romantic composers. Yngwie Malmsteen is not part of the canon, nor is his compositional style reminiscent of that style. 189.96.246.10 (talk) 00:10, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's totally untrue. The late romantic and even modern and contemporary composers are included in the category of western classical music. That said, this is best described some sort of pseudo-baroque popular orchestral music. He simply doesn't know enough about music to really claim to be composing in the classical tradition. For example, consider his so-called "fugue." It is in no way fugal. Or take his "andante," which he performs allegro vivace. Also, I'm not sure what he's going for with that ridiculous outfit. I would assume he thinks that in order to be "serious classical music," he needs to dress like he's from the 18th century, which just highlights his total ignorance of classical music. He really just looks like a pirate in a small-town community theater production.NeverWorker (Drop me a line) 17:27, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
